Maybe we should take a flyer on Klinsmann, letting him use his contacts in Germany, England and the U.S. to bring in some promising young under-the-radar types and make it a tri-nation training squad. He'll need to hire a good tactics coach.

I doubt he'd take the job, though, same as the other high-profile candidates with brains. At best the upside is moving us from roughly 15th to 10th in the table. Given our finances and current squad, over the next three years it's far more likely that we'll stay right where we are or slip, or fall.

So if you and your Orange are right then Favre would not have taken any PL job or indeed any job in the UK and just decided to waste time as he had nothing better to do.

I am convinced

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

I think Freedman’s presence is part of the problem. The so called structure of the club is conducive to appointing a head coach rather than a manager and we were fortunate that a couple of experienced heads like Roy and Ray were prepared accept the relative lack of control.

Freedman and SP are hardly a proven recruitment team but we seem to be asking experienced managers to trust them to help build a squad upon which they’ll have to stake their reputation. This against a backdrop of spending nothing in four years and an unsettled Board.

I think SP has listened too much to fans and everyone has got well carried away.
