I thought DD was star of the show as well as being such a strong member of the team. Funny and insightful. I particularly liked the fact that he had the Final date tattooed on his arm.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

I don't know...much to admire about all of them. Jedi, Bolasie, the heart breaking case of Jonny Williams, Wilf, Parr, Ramage, Murray...and definitely Delaney. I hope those few seasons transformed his life and helped the others in that squad as much as possible. A lesson in the value of chemistry. I wish Moritz had gotten more of a chance in the prem.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'I Love Palace - Our New Start' by becky Just watched the first episode of our new amazon documentary. The CPFC2010 consortium and Dougie Freedman has always gotten stick. Why do we do it to them? They are true passionate Palace men. They ARE one of us, one of our own. This documentary just highlights how much they have saved us and if it wasn't for them we would NOT be where we are now and thats including Dougie. We have been through so much to get where we are now and I think we all need to get behind these men. If anyone is ever doubting how much these guys CARE for Crystal Palace FC then you need to sit and watch the documentary. I am so proud of my club. I love Palace. And I know we haven't got a manager yet but I trust these guys to make the right decision and it's going to be a new era and a exciting change around for our club. I'm really looking forward to seeing the changes and getting stuck in with another season in the Premier league. Come on the Palace!

To me, Williams was the one who got away. The season he went I thought he was incredible.

I'm only two-and-a-half episodes in, and what really struck me is how Dougie built the core of that promotion team, and sought out men who had the right characteristics to be greater than the sum of the team's parts. While that was a lovely trip down memory lane, it really shines a light on how devoid of passion and commitment our current team has. I don't think they care that much about the cause and the 'project'. Maybe because there isn't one. I think we've all questioned our current recruitment strategy and I wonder why Dougie can't repeat what he did previously. Several of the players said the money didn't matter, it was about the project and opportunity. Where are those players now who want to be a part of trying to do something special in the Prem? If we get the right manager in who can sell a vision and philosophy - and let's face it we're crying out for one- then maybe we can replicate that spirit again! To be honest, we weren’t that great in the play offs, but I just think after the come back against Peterborough after looking like we’d blown it, we just wanted it more and I think Ollie’s sheer strength of character rubbed off on the players. I think that's a bit harsh on Ollie. We had a really small squad that season and were running on empty at times. We limped into the play offs (although totally derserved to as had been up there since September) and had to play a good BHA team who were in great form. Wasn't great 1st half at Palace, but 2nd half was better, and then Muzza gets injured. Going to BHA they were big favourites. We battled well, were a bit more organised and scored 2 great goals. Bolaise was sub that day - Ollie brought him on at the right time, just when the game was stretched. The final was an Ollie masterstroke IMHO. We were much the better team against arguably a better footballing side. Also, on the non footballing side Ollie's ability to take the pressure off the players can not be under estimated.

Just watched, great memories, one of my favourite seasons and a decent watch if you're a palace fan but if you take out interviews and match footage there wasn't really that much original footage, no training ground footage, no dressing room footage, half time team talks etc I can see why the original documentary didn't get released, apart from interviews with fans and footage at browetts House they didn't really have anything I've not already seen.
