Mathematically safe, personally never comfortable until our league position is a certainty. I know, "we were always safe" but cannot change the mentality caused by a lifetime supporting this team. Most of us on here wanted a boring year or two and we've had them. Bit bizarre for Palace who have always done the unexpected (good and bad).

I don't get negativity around Zaha. He provided a beautiful cross to Benteke, which should have been an easy goal. Later, he went through the entire Sheffield defense, and laid the ball off to Ayew for what should have been another easy goal. And people want Zaha gone? Who do we have besides Eze that is even half the player as Zaha? Townsend? Ayew? Benteke? Riedewald? Schlupp? If Wilf had a terrible game today, bad attitude, etc, he still contributed more than anyone other than Eze. He's our leading scorer by far, and he provides the most chances for other players to score. Yes, I wish his attitude was better at times, but he's one of the precious few players we have with real talent. I hope he stays with us for his career.

I'm not particularly surprised, but I don't understand Mateta not getting any game time today - perfect chance to give him 20 minutes. Definitely the better team overall and nice to see a rare away clean sheet. Very good performance from Eze, another concerningly quiet one from Zaha. Agreed,

Job done Eze man of the match by a country mile Zaha flatters to deceive -looked disinterested - we have a real dilemma ,though a match winner when he is in the mood ,if we have the chance of a sale Palace should take it

The commentator on the stream I watched said Eze and Benteke were Palace's best players. That same commentator also said Don't care how the goals went in. They went in and counted. Well done lads.... and the under 18s. Good day for us all round.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

nothing lucky about the way he got past 2 defenders near the halfway mark and dribbled through half their squad. Eze is quality. Yep, after that run deserved a bit of luck. Natural successor to Wilf. Hope we have a very large release clause or perhaps give him another improved contract. He is our future

Several times Wilf had the ball in space outside their area and just looked for the easy pass. Early in the season he would have taken a player on, moved inside looked for a shot (and likely scored). Still a good player but he doesn’t seem to be as interested as he was.

Wilf has carried this club for years. He’s our top scorer and would undoubtedly have more if it weren’t for the injuries. Even during his quiet games he’s still involved and could’ve quite easily had an assist today. There will be no "cashing in" on Wilf to any considerable degree. He will be 29 this year. He is still by far and away our best player and turning on him is utterly ridiculous.

Man of the Match was Ramsdale without him in their goal the score would have reflected our superiority. Now looking forward to the next four games and cutting down on the blood pressure tablets.
