Great display by Palace a great win especially bcause of the refs best effort to ruin it . a lot of promising players on the brink , Street was very good as was banks and the other on Saiki ray ( cant remember his name} Guehi looks like he has played there all his life .
Dad, do you know the piano's on my foot? You hum it son, I'll play it! |

CG has the energy and pace that our midfield has been missing.

Gallagher and Guehe both look class. Big upgrade on last season. Roy would not give either a start - too young. Would like to see Jesrun RS in for Townsend and Banks added to the first team squad. Someone needs to have a word with Ayew about when to release the ball. Still runs around in circles slowing everything up. Could have played Jes in with 10 to go, but selfishly hogged it and gave it away. Reminds me of Sturridge at his worst.

That wasn't bad at all. When we went down a man you wonder, pre-season, how the team will react but I must say that I really enjoyed the game. I know it's very, very early days but I could see that we could be a team that plays some good football, which I couldn't always say about Palace for a little while.. Some or at least one of the younger players should be able to get a few games in the Premiership under Vieira, Scott Banks looks like he could have a real future here, he's looked really good this pre-season. Mitchell and Guehi had a good game, as did Conor Gallagher. In fact the major errors today were made by the senior players. I really hope this comes good, as for me this was another step in the right direction. P.S. And when you think of the players that didn't play...

I was pleased to see we were still trying to play football despite being down to 10 men. A good win but let's be honest, Reading look a poor Championship team. League 1 Charlton looked better.

He played Eze throughout despite the opposition and his not being a natural fit for the system. He schooled him through the season and he was noticeably more effective off the ball by season's end He did us a big favour there as Eze success is likely a lure to other starlets - we're a club where you can get minutes. Compare and contrast Benrahma at West Ham - very few starts.
