PCP CAPITAL PARTNERS LLP, registered office 130a Park Lane, London, W1K 7AE hasn't traded in the last 10 years according to Companies House. How do you perform due diligence, fit and proper etc, when there are no public records available to scrutinise.

I think that's an easy get out. I mean, would they still say the same if the money was raised by selling child p***. or from sex trafficking? Or is there a barometer of terrible crimes? It doesn't mean you should stop supporting your club, but by celebrating it in such a grandiose style you're essentially celebrating the new Emperor as he marches into St James Park on the bones of his victims. Also, murder isn't political, it's just murder. If the Saudis can buy governments they can easily buy the PL.

They've passed the fit and proper person test.

Isn’t that just to ensure they don’t go bust?

Quite surprising as a soldier or former soldier you’re defending this murderous regime, or their right to wash their image over here using the public to do so.

No I'm defending Newcastle supporters. If we are holding Premier league club owners to a moral compass I'd be surprised if any of them passed.

Personally, I would rather Palace be relegated than become the plaything of a murderous despot. Or maybe you think Jordan should have sold to Gaddafi when he had the chance?

It's not quite in the same league but we do have a shareholder who made his fortune off the backs of young kids in the cobalt mines

Starmer suggesting its time to bring the PL under the control of an independent regulator.

Actually, why not nationalise our football, public ownership of the national sport.

The PL is a cartel of the rich, a mafia.

The Saudis have had their international reputation 'laundered' to suit, it is despicable.

From what I've read that doesn't include any judgement on crimes against humanity, just that their business interests are clean. There is also the ridiculous thing about the fact the club can't be state funded, but PIF is led by the leader of Saudi Arabia. This seems about as clean and honest as Qatar being given the 2022 World Cup. People are going to try and ignore it but the reality is people will be suffering and dying in Saudi Arabia while the wealth being generated from that suffering brings in some star footballers.

Putting a positive spin on it, maybe this will all backfire and Newcastle games will become an opportunity to draw attention to the problems and abuses in Saudi Arabia.

Newcastle will be massive, its just jealousy from other fans very few people would have been moaning on here if they bought palace.

The first point seems inevitable, the second arguable, the last... well I would like to think it is wrong but suspect opinion would be divided.

For my part, I am still a little unhappy that we have part US ownership, if only for the head held high pride when we walked into any away ground knowing we are not some play thing for foreign money but wholly owned by local fans.

Back on topic, and aside from the comments made by others on here about the morality of the takeover, another giant money machine in the mix is going to distort the market even further. Any players stand out who will fit into Newcastle/Chelsea/Man City, there could be a colossal bidding war. The "rest" will not retain their best. They will, however, get rich off the back of nurturing and sales.

Thus, if our academy continues to do well, we may indirectly be one of the biggest beneficiaries of all this.

Not so sure as the UKs main defence deal is with the Saudis. They buy British. Probably the reason pressure from the government was exerted on the Premier League. As far as I can tell, the Premier League did not want the Saudis taking over Newcastle but have been left with little option (plus a couple of sweeteners, one expects).

I used to put the manager's name in front of Red and Blue but got fed up with changing it. If someone cool becomes our manager then maybe..

Red and Blue Army!

If you dig deep enough you'll find connections to suspect practices by most billionaires. Just the nature of being a billionaire is almost immoral in that you have more money than you'll ever need while there are tens of millions starving in the world. I find this dilemma challenging given the amount of money in the game, and I can see how it makes me somewhat of a hypocrite at times.

You have to draw the line somewhere though and Saudi Arabia is so far over the line it has almost gone around the world and back to the other side of the line again.

It's just football, a competitive sport, nothing more. All fans should only care about their club being the best and without money that's impossible. There's no need for any politics in football, its hypocritical for the Premier league to have blm, pride and then allow Saudi owners but I don't see why Newcastle football supporters should have to be bothered about world politics when they're just supporting a football club.

Shearer on the bbc, Keown on Talksport saying how marvellous it is that Newcastle will have the Saudi billions to spend. These are the same people who want players to continue taking the knee against ALL forms of discrimination. Presumably that no longer includes, the rights of women, homosexuals
, migrant workers etc. The hypocrisy beggars belief
Personally I would like to think Palace would not sell their soul to Saudis, if they did I doubt I would renew my season ticket

You may be right, as I stated before, watch out for mega tv deal for PL from Saudi
