Ifs and buts! Never know we might never have beat city if we had won at arsenal and Brighton! Seems Vieira learnt alot in those games with the late goals!

Winning at Brighton would have been unbelievable!

Just a slight worry in signing him in January, is we have him on a season loan and if he was unfortunate to get a serious injury between January and the end of the season I assume he would go back to Chelsea and could we replace him with another loan?

Yes, that is a risk with any player, hopefully this is where injury insurance plays its part. It would be silly not to try and secure him permanently in the next T/F window before the vultures get circulating.

Shearer uncharacteristically nice about us last night. Pretty much reflected my view that we should be higher up.

I was there, Guiata was MOM for time wasting, how he didn't get booked until near the end only Andre Marriner knows.

Yes it seemed like the City fans were booing him literally from the first kick! A City fan launched a pie at us when the second goal went in. Fortunately his aim was about as good as the City strikers and actually clipped the top of the stewards head 😃

Three Palace players in Garth Crooks' team of the week (BBC). Why only three??!!!

(Guehi, Gallagher, Zaha)

Fantastic performance from the boys yesterday, and I thought Jimmy and Conar should have jointly won MOTM.So many players have improved under PV especially Joel Ward and Tyrick Mitchell who have benefitted from having two Good centre backs beside them.Where have all the JW knockers gone who called him a Championship full back, I bet PV doesn’t.Jimmy MAC has also gone up another level as has Benteke who’s work rate has gone up considerably.Wilf has stopped sulking after being left out and realised he is not indispensable.Isn’t it great to look forward to the next game whoever we are playing, as we are a match for anyone now.COYP

He said something in the post match interview about having players (specifically Gallagher) willing and able to link up with. I think he's just revitalised and re-motivated. The standard of our attacking ability has finally raised to meet his standard, and it's challenging him to be better.

Watching Newcastle, with their deep defence (and still conceding three) reminded me of us last season. A midfield and defence pass it sideways, and slowly backwards, eventually reaching the keeper who can only hoof it, as there's nowhere else to go. And Allan Saint-Maximin does his best to reach a ball he'll never get, chasing heroically, but with utter futility. Instead the opposition casually win it back, with 19 outfield players in the opposition half, and their cycle of dominance starts again. The defensive team have to work so hard, to get so little, and any success is reliant on genius.

For Saint-Maximin, read Zaha, who did this for years. He's not had this much fun since Bolasie was here.

Olise play for the second goal was world class. And he’s 19!!!

Second that! Just watch our 2nd goal vs City. Olise and CG start it all, his way of carrying the ball and finding Wilf would never happen with Ayew in same position. And his awareness and sublime lay-off serving the ball on the platter for Gallagher - world-class deluxe!

Olise is a class act. He ran 50 yds at full pelt with the ball almost glued to his feet. We are lucky to have him

When was Wilf left out? Presumably you mean when he was ill having returned from International duty

Watched the whole game last night, that was the best defensive display so far from back to front. I couldn’t tell who the City fans were booing, definitely Guita though as he took his time with distributing the ball from goal kicks. Although he did bowl it out pretty quickly on each occasion to our defenders.

I used to think City fans were pretty decent bunch especially when they were struggling in Division 1, but since the money men came in they have turned into an entitled bunch who don’t back their team when they are losing.

What’s more they pretty much all f***ed off with 15 minutes to go, what s*** house support they have turned into!

I take it you didn't go to the 1995 League Cup tie v City at Selhurst then? The City fans were so poorly behaved during their team's 4-0 defeat that Palace fans sang to them "You're the sh!t of Manchester!" (to the tune of 'Bread of Heaven'). Given who the other major Manchester team is, that was quite an indictment!!
