Yes indeed because, as we all agree, "aren't you just fed-up with experts?" What do they know? Lol.

The word 'expert' is often misapplied in my view. I look at actual practical results....not promotion or qualifications.....In history, due to hubris, this has often had to found out the hard way multiple times.

For example, those financial experts weren't really talking a lot of sense before 2008......'experts' indeed.

And funny how the opinion of the experts on how to recover from that disaster was for sheer money printing and for the taxpayer to be on the hook.

In fact, I struggle to think of one social or financial area of life which so called 'experts' have actually improved society....it's often little more than ideology.

They are usually 'expert' at making the situations better for themselves or their particular section of society.

I have always watched BBC News at lunchtime whilst eating my sarnie but it has been so boring lately that I have started watched Sky's Transfer Show or Football Show and that seems to be chock full of "experts" none of whom I have heard of and whose opinions are rarely any more valid than half the posters on HOL

She has got a point though.
I may be a Tory voter but everything that is going on now is difficult to stomach, even more so when you know that Starmer doesn't have to lift a finger to walk through the doors of No 10 sometime next year.
Boris could have been helped in his time of need, however stupid he had been but Sunak and co just couldn't wait to bury him.
As with the majority of politicians, it is about "me, me, me" and not the good of the Country.
Guy Fawkes was one of the good guys!

Her criticisms might carry more weight if she had resigned months ago. Why has she continued to take her salary whilst not doing her job, she is a successful (financially) author so she can't need the money.

She and the muppet Hancock and the SNP scumbag MP have strung it out and should be made to pay back their wages, it's stealing a living from the taxpayer.

I agree entirely. Anyone else not turning up for work, quite rightly, wouldn't be paid. "the gig economy" ? Doesn't work for elites

Those were factors, but financial experts (I heard on the radio around 18 months ago,...sorry no link) on the radio were saying the UK economy was failing even before those events kicked-in. Key indicators were noticeable before these events.
I do acknowledge that the events you list were massively significant, yet also provided a convenient smoke-screen ?

That's the point. A strong fit economy would, like the human body, would be better resilient to shock and enjoy quicker recovery.

And Brexit as a cause has been conveniently overlooked.

Growth / Productivity has been the Achilles heel for the UK economy for decades both in and out of the EU.

Many of our EU friends have better records however I am suspicious as we don't always compare apples with apples and in some cases I think these countries are actually fudging their numbers.

Never the less unless we change our ethos it wont matter whether you are pro or Anti EU. The government has been signing free trade agreements but even they recognise that if business don't grasp the opportunities these deals means nothing.

They are not worth a w**k, that's why, not designed to be in the UK interests but a cheap brexit headline for Johnson and Truss to the detriment of our interests.

Growth the UK is snookered, there can hardly be any and it would take years to make any dent in the loss to GDP caused by brexit.

Johnson's deal has well and truly scuppered us, and to think that Starmer supported it, now he can hardly oppose it, twit.

Do you have any actual idea how the EU are doing? Germany is a disaster zone compared to what it should be.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.
