Came across this in regards to 'Pools' managers wife, makes sobering reading . . . [Link]

In case anyone is interested, here is the pre-match interview with the opposing manager, Graeme Lee

Seems like a nice, humble chap. One of their defenders grew up in Croydon and "could see Selhurst from his house": i assume it is this guy

I saw that and donated - very sad.
I accept there are thousands of causes but some strike home don't they.
He does sound like a decent guy but it doesn't mean I don't want us to slaughter them on Saturday!

Makes very emotional reading eagleman. Graeme Lee's wife Gemma would appear to be one heck of a brave lady. It's devastating to live with the knowledge that you have a terminal illness. The whole family seem to be coping very well.

If she's at Selhurst on Saturday it would be good if Mr Parish and Co give her (and the kids) a proper Crystal Palace VIP day out. And maybe a donation towards her treatment would be a lovely gesture.

But, like Dolphin, I still hope we win the match!

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

3-0. I don’t think we’re capable of scoring more than 3 goals however many chances we create and whatever the quality of the opposing defence. But that’s plenty.

I agree, but would add that it would be nice if our fans could treat the away supporters with some respect. Without being patronising, this is a very big occasion for them, for which they will have travelled a long way. I saw a woman on tv the other day saying "I'm really looking forward to it - I've never been to a Premier League ground before." So please let's have none of the howls of derision and obscene gestures with which away fans are normally treated by some fans at the Whitehorse end. And how about our players also going to applaud them at the end, because I'm sure they'll deserve it. We've already created some goodwill by subsidising their travel; let's not dissipate it with insulting and hostile behaviour.

Totally agree. Perhaps a chant of “ only 1 Gemma Lee” may be nice. Hopefully a great atmosphere and no chants about Lewis Dunk

Yep I am sure our Chairman will do something. Perhaps the kids coming out with the teams would be nice

It seems, our chairman/club must read these boards, Club have indeed 'done something'

Being in Boro there are a few Hartlepool fans I work with. A few are traveling down. Like any club's fans there are a few bad eggs but on the whole they are a good bunch, real feeling of community. It is a massive game for them and a lot of excitement and anticipation. Of course they are dreaming of a giant killing but there is no animosity or bad feeling towards Palace, I think they know its a long shot to beat us but that doesn't stop them dreaming.

I really hope there is a great atmosphere on Saturday in the right spirit.

Would n be nice to donate enough for several years treatment. I anticipate they will look after her and the kids. Perhaps HF singing “ 1 Gemma Lee” would be appropriate

cant go tomorrow donated the price of the ticket, knew somebody who passed away from a brain tumour, so sad, 2 young kids left with husband, makes football seem so irrelevant, perhaps some of the prima-donna players could donate, 60K is nothing to them.
