I live in Bristol where they are trying to erase the name of Colston from the face of it. He of statue chucked in water fame. There were schools, the biggest concert hall, roads etc. all (or almost all) now changed.

I didn't know, must be horrible , people being constantly triggered into being offended on behalf of others, hopefully you have found a safe space....

Returning to a place where you formerly lived could become like going into the unknown. Who will be picking the new names of streets and buildings as history is erased?

History is hard to erase

It is regularly reinterpreted

History is also happening now

We can use the names of all the extinct species for our next wave of road naming. There will be plenty of choice.

Where I used to live as a lad was full of Asians when I last passed through.

That is the reality.

What is written in history books is subject to the prejudices of those who write them.

Leave it 60 years and you can do what you like. Actually no, what these idiots are creating for offspring and future offspring is unacceptable. People like this never had a voice. How we let these floppy wristed, dress wearing men dominate institutions is criminal. They have no idea what they’re doing. Never have, never will.

There’s a building on the Brighton Road next to Kwik-Fit in the Purley Oaks stretch that has large numbers of people coming out wearing full burkas or Niqaabs or the full male dress. It won’t be long before a Labour council push through a mosque there and more going either way along the Brighton Road towards Croydon and Purley. Purley first.

I can't remotely work out what this post is about - it's like a riddle

Why 60 years? Who has created what for offspring?

People like who never had a voice? Who are the dress wearing men and what institutions do they dominate?

Who doesn't know what they're doing!?

60 years was an arbitrary number. Could be 50. Mass immigration and the issues happening already and will continue. But let’s change the landscape to distract and remove the majority view and voice.

The liberals who’ve infiltrated local councils, education, the police, you name it, any tax funded agency and organisation. These are why we’re considered a soft touch around the world and people take advantage. A friend travelled way off the beaten tracks in about 2000. Many locals he met had heard of Lunar House in Croydon, the immigration office.

The above don’t know what they’re doing. They’re never accountable.

Thanks for the explanation.

At least we've still got a Conservative government to show us how it should be done.

That is why I said history is constantly being re-interpreted

In due course people that were considered heroes may lose their places on high pedestals as the long-term effects of their actions are considered anew.

Those that write history have a huge power but potentially only for a limited period. Unless we all get exposed to Speedlearn (see The Prisoner episode named The General). This appears to be what is happening to all sides at the moment regarding Ukraine.
