I think the pennys finally dropping for the CONservative backers, the mortgages for universal credit, with no consultation with the lenders, was the final nail in the coffin, i fear the hearts gone out of most people, sticking their head above the pulpit, only for another absurd idea to come out of the great leaders mouth, it"s a bit like the likes of Nadine Dorries going on for a tv interview defending something, only to leave the studio and learn the thing she was defending has been cancelled or u turned, how many times can you get shot at before the blood drains out of your loyalty?

Countdown from 10 until Hrolf says 'but yeah, something something Labour!'.

At the end of the day people have to have enough about them to not reward those shoveling sh!t their way, just because they anticipate another shovel load from a different direction if they don't go along with it. I won't be voting next time around as a vote should earned not just given.

Why bother? There is no cure for blind allegiance.

No one in this parliament has the balls or the integrity to do what needs to be done and end the scandal that is mass immigration.

All I here is people talking around subjects like housing shortages and house prices and not facing up to the route cause.

There will never be a big enough population to fill all the menial jobs and solve the pension crisis because a bigger population needs a bigger workforce and immigrants get old just like everyone else.

This is all driven by political ambition and greed.

Who will step forward and stand up to this insanity?

The Telegraph, despite being a tory rag, has its reporters on the ground in Rwanda and can bee treated as reliable imo.

After all you would think they would be desperate to show the government as justified, instead they have found that this is not the case.

Nobody would seriously believe anything Patel or Johnson said and now their own supporters have had enough of them.

As for the flight itself 100 people have already been dropped from the manifest leaving 32 probably say 15 after appeals.

The absurdity of it and its preceding operations all similarly unsuccessful, defy explanation.

Steeley saying the Telegraph is reliable! Who’d have thought it

Flights with these sorts of numbers have been happening for years,to all parts of the world. Works out cheaper than detention costs, appeal costs or the cost of keeping those, who should not be here, here.
Although I believe a deterrent is long overdue, as I previously stated, this won’t happen imo. Unfortunately I cannot envisage what can be done.
All those against this on here, do any of you believe the illegal migrants should be stopped? Bear in mind many have been exploited, if so how?

Interesting article about the Human Rights Act. Whether you agree with deporting people is actually moot.

The professor is pointing out that the courts are now taking decisions that Parliament should make and this is entirely down to Blair's Human Rights law. In other words these are policial decisions which Parliament should make.

That would be Tony Blair whose wife was a Human Rights Lawyer. Lucky it’s only the CONS who look after their own

Asylum seekers are not criminals, they should have the same checks as other immigrants, then allowed to work and contribute.

The tories claim near parity over immigration but they are doing all this nastiness regardless.

The numbers are insignificant, they use immigration as a political tool to whip up feelings and add to the vote.

If there is a problem over immigration it is likely to be from Patel herself allowing unhindered entry from India as part of the post brexit trade deal.

Her policy won't apply to Patels.

Your Lefty friends are trying to wreck this country with your demonstrations and court challenges. The very same kind of people who wanted to ban the bomb no doubt.

Look how stupid we would look now If Putin decided to invade Europe.

We have to find a way to control our borders for the grim future ahead, and the likes of you better wake up to that sooner rather than later.

On this I agree

Climate change will drive mass migration, no doubt. And it will almost certainly get nasty

But this is simply fiddling whilst Rome burns.

The approach has to be long term strategic, not short term tactical. And part of that has to be make life more attractive in countries that will export large numbers. I am sure you agree that the huge reduction in UK aid last year is deeply regrettable. And that action on climate is of the highest priority

The Telegraph is a serious newspaper and not a right wing rag like the Mail, or to a lesser degree the Express. You can disagree with its analysis, but not get irate with it.

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

Rwanda are enjoying themselves anyway. Their government seems quite proactive.
