Some good responses to my post.

If we are going to play 3 at the back with wing backs on occasion it does mean getting more CB's or as has been said playing Ward at RCB. Or using Kouyote but I do think he is off.

It also means that we can play around with the wing backs. Ayew could fill that roll on the right, but other than TM we have no others in the first team. I could see that working at home with one DM, a right mid and a left mid and 2 up top.

It is always good to change things around tactically or teams can suss you.

Yes, I think Luka is going hence not included.

For me Nketiah offers much more pace and more clinical goal scoring than any of our other strikers. COYP

No, not disappointed but surprised if he stays, think Arsenal want two new strikers. he will get lots of bench time

The BBC Football gossip page has quoted the Sun, not always a reliable source, in saying that McArthur and Tomkins have signed contract extensions.

CPFC confirmed yesterday.

Not a bad bit of business, at the very least two of my more favourite players, unsung heroes, so not aggrieved by that.

I agree P.O.G. He seems to have come to terms with the fact that he's lost a little pace and has adapted his game.

I was intrigued by PV's statement in the post Man U press interview that Zaha should have got 20 or even 24 goals this season! Let's hope Wilf stays and PV can get him into a mindset where he scores that kind of number!

The uptick in Wilf's goal output this season is nearly 100% related to penalty duties. Strip out the pens and his open play goals (and shots for that matter) more or less exactly match what he got in Roy's last season. There is definitely scope for improvement there.

It might meant that we are not going to see any defensive cover brought in this window.

JT, JW, CK (if he stays) and dare I say it Ferguson as CB cover.

That's always the concern when contracts are sorted lol.

I'm presuming that is in case we are left with nobody for cover! My hope is there will still be efforts concentrated on new recruits!
