The Nazi Toilet Paper (Mail) is now saying Villa have approached Chelsea about Gallagher. I understand if Chelsea keep him, but I would be gutted if he went to another PL club.

I didn't realise that Daily Mail readers were socialists. Unless you mean that Nazi's use it as toilet paper because they don't like it.

I heard one theory that I thought sounded plausible.
This was that Gallagher could join Palace on loan with Chelsea having a recall option in January.
This would enable Gallagher to get immediate first team football to push for a World Cup place while not cutting his Chelsea ties.
It helps Palace in the immediate term and allows for longer term planning in future windows.
If Chelsea's current injuries are short term in nature and/or they bring in a midfielder, I could see this happening.
You could argue it's a sticking plaster for Palace, but it's better than nothing.

That would mean he would only play a handful of games due to the WC starting in November.

The loan would be for the season with a recall option in January that would not necessarily be exercised.
Gallagher has Mount, Jorghinho,Kante and Kovacic ahead of him whereas he walks straight into our team.
He obviously wants a career at Chelsea and his future there may become clearer in January.
For example Jorghino and Kante have contracts that expire at the end of the season and come January it should be clearer what their futures are.
Gallagher coming here doesn't necessarily present a long term solution for Palace but it gets us over an immediate hurdle and may well appeal to all parties.

With Chelsea trying to loan a midfielder from Juventus, CG loan chance may go the last minute!

I’d be well happy if this suddenly happened , but can’t see it now. But regardless replacing him should have been top of the list and the fact that an alternative seems just as unlikely is even more of a disappointment to me..

I think if Potter takes the Chelsea job he will find a spot for Gallagher in the team which will suit him. If Poch or Zidane take it then we may have a chance

My honest opinion is that whilst of course I recognise the contribution he made to our club last season, I really do believe that Gallagher falls below the standard required by England and I have never believed that he would be selected for the World Cup.

I accept others will disagree but such variances of opinion are all part of the 'Rich tapestry' of HOL.
