Disagree. It was obvious at the time. We were playing well and Brentford were posing zero threat. There wasn't a need to make big structural changes

When it’s only 1 nil, there is always a chance the opposition will get back into it. The game was stretched and we looked very comfortable until all the changes.

Brentford are no mugs and we invited the pressure on ourselves, again.

I want us to see these games out when we are in control, tonight was ridiculous!

Wilf 'doing his nut'.

Don't blame him, the goalscorer was completely unmarked despite PVs dubious defensive changes.

Fatigue also understandably a factor.

Duocore is a really good addition.

The PL is tougher each year, you really cannot afford a slip.

Frustration rules.

Absolutely correct PV's unnecessary substitutions cost us two points this evening, our attacking threat with Olise, Eze and also Schluppy disappeared and we handed over our advantage to Brentford. In the end we were fortunate to hang on for a point.

Yaaaawn. I know it's popular to hate on Luka. But he's not why we lost tonight. We changed too defensively instead of giving them more to think about from an attacking sense. This one's on PV.

Yes this is on PV, but if he can bring on better quality (even Hughes rather than Luka), we shore up the middle of the park.
Luka was brilliant for us when he came but every footballer has a sell by date. Unfortunately Luka has passed his one with us. You may think 'yawn' but if you think Luka is still Premier league quality please let us all know!

There needs to be an inquest between Vieira and his coaching staff as to why they thought a defensive back three formation was suitable for seeing out Brentford at home.
As soon as he made the decision, I looked at my teenage son and we both said this is the wrong call.
If laymen like us can see the problem, why can’t professional coaches like Vieira and his staff see it?
I still have lots of respect for how Vieira changed our playing style for the better, but he just doesn’t seem to learn how to see a tight game out.

Just back from the match and I agree PV made a bad call on the substitutions. From being on top in the second half we suddenly looked a mess, lost our shape and couldn't keep possession any more.

And of course now having the option of 5 substitutes increases the risk of making wholesale changes that can upset the whole balance of the team.

We need a new song “ stop sitting back yawn yawn yawn “ to sweet Caroline
Or “ Throwing it all away”

So jacks the crowd off when Palace defend when they should attack.
We’d rather lose a game if we kept trying to win

Forever Palace Proud

It was clear to see if you had watched the game live [clearly by your comments you did not] we was all over them and he did the changes after they did and it changed the whole game.

Wrong about the goal you can see he get drawn because of Tony who does try to go for the ball and the stupid VAR tried to claim he was not active ridiculous he has drawn a player towards him and even moved hoping to gt the ball.

Correct on one point we should have scored more but you could say the same for them.

Nothing to do with striker ED many times got into good positions and Wilf messed up pass (you cant expect the guy to keep closing people down and defend then do all the work up front and we saw Mateta gets gassed quickly hes better coming of bench)

It's the style which is the issue and realistically unless you are sticking in a top player which Palace can't afford or attract the style up top needs to change.

This whole one guy up front doesn't work well.

Last thing the manager needs to stop blaming tiredness if these players are struggling they need better fitness and why is he playing the same players all the time this is what a squad is for.

I watched it live and like most people I also thought we should’ve kept Olise and Eze on and subbed Schlupp who was poor tonight. My point was that PV had a call to make and it didn’t work out but if he hadn’t made those changes and Brentford had scored he’d have been slaughtered here for doing nothing. He went 5 at the back against Liverpool and we got a point. He tried it again here and it didn’t come off. Doesn’t make him a genius at Liverpool and a clown here.

Only just back!

Probably been mentioned already but some points from me:

Weren’t at our best tonight, not awful but looked sluggish and ambivalent
Wilf’s goal superb
Olise looks about 95% there so that’s great
Doucoure quickly becoming my favourite player
Ward looks better now than he did before he started declining (for me)
I still think clyne looks superb. Don’t need AWB with any desperation
Schlupp looked knackered after about 30 mins (may just be me)
Mateta didn’t do much but didn’t have much of anything to work with
Eze looked ‘off the boil’
Pat’s subs were once again somewhat bemusing as was the decision to switch formations at that point, we went from looking in control and under little threat to looking disorganised and inviting them to give it a go, then we conceded. We then could have easily lost the match at several points as we looked all over the gaf.
I think a lot of gratitude is sorely missing for Luka and there’s too much vitriol for me personally but he is, as all players will be, done at this level.

1-1 probably a fair result but the manner bitterly disappointing. We weren’t a million miles off being able to ride that one out or even get another. Pat needs to learn from mistakes but overall I’m not too despondent.

As always, COYP!!! Onwards and upwards hopefully.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!
