We will be last on MOTD tonight I guess but can’t wait to see Shearer. Magnificent Newcastle robbed by VAR!

Cant believe how many Palace fans on here actually sound disappointed that the Sandcastle goal was disallowed by VAR.....we have had the same and worse in the last few seasons and will doubtless get dodgy VAR decisions against us this season

Both Mateta and Edourde had very good attempts today saved by an excellent keeper. We've played Arsenal, Liverpool and Man.C and scored three goals against them ..Arsenal were very fortunate because we deserved at least a point. Our scoring opportunities are not the problem.

No you are right, opportunities are not the problem, it is putting them in the net that is. We have scored 7 goals in league matches, 4 by Wilf, an own goal and just two by the rest of the team.

Yes, the keeper saved well today but how often are we going to hear the same story rather than he finished it well. We need a forward who when faced with half a chance, buries it. I quite like both Edouard and Mateta but neither finishes like say Murray or Andy Johnson. Maybe they don’t exist any more for less than £50m.

It's retaining the ability to be objective, despite personal allegiances. Of course I'm relieved, but not going to view a stroke of good fortune as an achievement. I'm disappointed we were in such a desperate position in the first place.

Don't know how you watch the last two games and believe that. We have no patterns to open teams up. Any chance comes with the other team caught up the pitch

Yeah, I know. The post was well written, with correct punctuation, and was pulled up on a misspelt name. I found it amusing and added my own correction of a misspelt name, which iheartcpfc missed. This also amused me.

Haha, I saw that. I did think, f*** me, for one, his name is a nightmare to spell with far too many vowels, and two... there are way worse splelleeres on here.

A lot of fans are critical of our forwards and midfield highlighting their inability to score goals and indicating they were totally ineffective in the game. We did not lose and could have won. Now look at Newcastle spent millions their £63 million striker was no better than Our forwards. Their midfield and forwards had no more shots than us on target or otherwise. The goalkeepers from each side kept both their teams in the game. Let’s face it we were away at an intimidating ground and came away with a hard fought point and a clean sheet. Of the two teams who should be more dissatisfied with their team us or the Toon.

I agree. How many on here would have expected us to lose only 1 of away games against City, Liverpool and Newcastle? I gather we did not play well but we did not lose.
I was as P***ed off as everyone else that we do not get anymore signings in but we have had a horrendous start, fixture wise. Let’s get behind the team and hope for more signings in January

Well it's not just me then. Some think Eze should have a free role in front of a defensive midfield duo, others think he's a deep lying midfielder, pulling the strings. So can someone please tell me, what exactly role does he do? If he is the hub, pulling the strings surely the ball should be fed through him more often than not? I think of the majestic Andrea Pirlo and how he made the role look easy.

He has No 10 on his Back and that is what he is, at the moment he has defensive duties with Schlupp either side of Doucoure, if we player to DMs, i would even play Ward there it frees up Eze to play as the No 10 he is not a No 8 like PV is trying to turn him into.

Yeah, I agree. They've only won one game. We've done alright. I'm satisfied with our efforts and have no less belief now than a month ago.

From memory, we still have Manchester United coming up soon, who are looking increasingly tough to beat. Then after that the fixtures open up to all the other 'also rans', so if we make a good account of ourselves, we have a good chance of hitting the world Cup with a nice run of form.

Of course, that's not how these things work, and for every credible draw with Liverpool, there's a f*** up elsewhere
