Coronavirus and the impact of Lockdown policy

I am sure most have heard the expression that "No man is an island". It is a pertinent one, given the persistent attitude here of a poster who fails to comprehend its simple message. Everything we do touches other people. Some are unnoticeable, and insignificant. Others dramatic and life-threatening. Most are in between the two extremities, but every action produces a reaction somewhere. This can also be thought of as "the butterfly effect", the idea that small things can have non-linear impacts on a complex system. The concept is imagined with a butterfly flapping its wings and causing a typhoon. Of course, a single act like the butterfly flapping its wings cannot cause a typhoon, but can make a contribution, or start a process. Which is why statements like "my decision to remain unvaccinated does not affect anyone just myself" are disingenuous excuses for inaction. In the context of how we all responded to the pandemic it's an important consideration for the enquiry to examine. When a group of our fellow citizens, encouraged by misinformation spread over the social and new media, decide not to participate in the programme to deal with an urgent problem, what do we need to do if it happens again?

Vee vill find vays of making zem comply? Some would want to use compulsion as the solution. Some deserve compulsion as the solution. Won't happen though, but we do need to do more to ensure the messaging is better and the disinformation exposed. We understood the need to do that far too late.

Me. I don't believe it anymore than I dismiss it and that, I think, has been the position of most folk who try to maintain an open mind on something that hasn't been establshed as a fact. The "conspiracy theories" that were condemned were not that it was a possible leak, but that it was a deliberate leak and the way that it was politicised by Trump. An accidental leak was always a likely, even probable source, but the kickback came when Trump started to use this as an excuse to turn the focus away from him. We needed China to co-operate and allow the WHO access to determine the cause, take steps to limit the damageand and advise on improvements to avoid any future reoccuence. They are naturally reticent and secretive anyway but when Trump started his tirade of playing the blame game and suggesting compensation they slammed the door shut. It was not the way to handle a crisis. That was why the kickback happened. To try to keep China onside.

When covid first started. There was mass protests going on in china and the Chinese government could not handle them. I did have a theory that the Chinese government released a not so serious virus to control the population but enough to scare them into submission. So I do think it came from the lab. Accidental or on purpose I doubt we will ever truly know. Anyways it was just a theory and well within my rights to theory it. Could be wrong could be right who cares anymore really? Not beyond of realms of possibility my theory and alot more probable than someone eating a bat.
