Apologies, but late to this party.

I cant argue with any point, save that we are in a completely different world to the 70s.

The Premiership is very, very big business. And to sell to the world, you have to play entertaining football.

Our style is not good enough for the top half but good enough to beat most teams below us. The results are proving that.

Mid table, entertaining fare, that will draw viewers and money.

Very risky, of course, but what isn't? Everton have chucked vast sums at the task and have been compelled to revert to dull pragmatism just to survive. I prefer our model.

hmm, not so sure about that. the overriding success is to be winning, surely. Chelsea never played 'entertaining' football, they were just super good at winning stuff.

Not even sure what Entertaining football even is/ The world has an obsession with possession based build up from the back football. Unless that's played v.well, it bores my t*ts off. It too easily descending into slow, patient build up ending with 11 men behind the ball.
The most Entertaining for me is Man Utds team of the 90s, which 'swashbuckling' would be a good description. High energy, toughness in the tackle, Fast Counters, precision, pace and style.
That, to me is English football at it's best. Yes you lose, but win or lose, you do so with with heart and passion.
It's all been washed away with Guardiola's Barcalona.

I hated United but agree with this. I don't find possession based football entertaining either.

Steve Coppell's team of the late eighties and early nineties was direct and, at times, agricultural but everyone loved it.

'We' may have loved it, but we were generally despised for it.

No but apparently we had money to buy Gallagher in the summer. It would be nice to see our multi-billionaire owners finance the team rebuild, as others have done at clubs not dissimilar in size to us

You begin with "no" and then you agree with me!

It's always fun seeing reading the posts explaining why PV has got it wrong from people who have probably less than 1% of his knowledge and experience.

It's all about opinions of course.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Leeds have just announced the sacking of Jesse Marsch.
He has just brought in coach Chris Armas whom he has worked with before.Armas was assistant to Rangnick at Man Utd.

You could say the same of the likes of Bobby Moore, Bobby Charlton and more recently Ray Wilkins, Tony Adams and Frank Lampard.
Being a great player, and having a great deal more football knowledge than the average fan, does not necessarily equate to being a great manager .
If one accepts the manager is always right ,when his decisions are queried by supporters, you may as well do away with discussion forums.
No doubt managers would be very content with this outcome.

Been given his 'Marching orders'... guarantee that'll be at least one headline.

Suffice to say I and we should sincerely hope the recruiting of a replacement is shambolic and ultimately dooms them to failure.

At least we know Dyche is now unavailable.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

It seems clubs will do anything for a couple of results and sacking the manager does seem to come with a subsequent 'bounce'.

We can only hope it's a 'dead cat' one.

They might have cast eyes in the direction of Carlos Corberan.

He took Huddersfield to the play-off final the season after they finished in 20th place.

This season when he took over at WBA after 16 games, the 'Baggies' were second from bottom in the table.Currently, after 29 games they are in the play-off places, in 6th.

Seems like the weekend was a big one for the bottom clubs.... our game in hand and cushion has all but gone.. we buckle against Brighton and those that picked up points do it again and we are looking over our shoulder and smelling the breath of relegation and here's the question... sobering as it is...

Do we have any player or coach prepared to handle a relegation scrap???

This was once a quality forum....

Take your point, but have you seen Serie A?

And that is a "good" league to watch.
