one for the future is the polite way of saying that right now he's a headless chicken. Too early to write him off though, Vieira is a good judge of a player and it can take time to adjust to the prem - it took Jedinak a season of being cr*p in the champ b4 he got up to speed - Doucoure had hid best game for us on Sat I thought, linked up with the rest of the team better than previously. Ahamada likes to carry the ball so could turn into a box-to-box midfielder for us.

Exactly - let's not write him off until he's had time to adjust to the rigours of the PL. We can so easily forget that this is the toughest league in the world and foreign players often take months to get to grips with both the pace and intensity of the game.

He will not be able to adjust to the pace and intensity if he is not selected !

He is very inexperienced at the top level only playing 25 games for Stuttgart before transferring to us.

Unfortunately now is not the time for him to adjust. If we were safe he would get minutes. A pre-season and we will see we have a good player imo

I concur with the sentiments apropos his inclusion in the team.

Ahamda has said that he is a No 8 first and a No 6 second and is a box-to-box player.

It is a strange signing, with Phillips and Ozoh promising young players, but lets hope he is a class act and next season will be a good box to box.

In retrospect, it seems Parish simply wasn't willing to spend substantially in the January window? There will obviously be massive activity in the summar, and Ahamada may or may not seems a wise purchase...I see him as on par with Ozoh and Philips and hopefully at least one of them will progress to the first team squad

One of his main attributes is his speed - apparently - which is a big asset in the PL. To judge him either positively or negatively is bonkers at this stage though given he hasn't even started a game. I've liked his energy and enthusiasm, which is something fans can normally get behind. I always saw the signing of Lokonga as the PL ready option with Ahamada the one to ease in ready for next season.

I very much doubt it. There is around a million pounds prize money for every place in the table, not to mention Roy's ambitions and the player's ambitions, since both parties will likely have bonuses dependent on final position.

We will play the strongest XI every game the rest of the way and aim for the highest place possible.

As for Ahamada, I find the whole transfer a bit of a curate's egg. Was he a Vieira signing? I thought he was a Dougie signing. Vieira was screaming out for experienced players, not novices, and when Ahamada did come, Patrick barely played him. He may well turn out to be an excellent signing (I don't really know enough about him to have an opinion) but given how things were going in January and the limited funds we had available to address what was then an increasingly desperate position, it seemed strange to me that we would spend our entire budget on someone who was unlikely to contribute. As for his future, finger's crossed it pans out.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

As suspected, Roy has said the reason he has not been selected is because he knew nothing at all about him, however he has been very pleased about him in training and sees a bright future for him in our midfield although he tempered that by saying that other players had trained well and saw no reason to displace them.

In short, he’s probably going to be one for next seasons manager to bring in. Roy’s maxim: why pick a good young un when you can pick a good old un. Experience is very important to Roy and Ray.
