Isn't it time this thread or part of it was moved into Palace talk? After all, he is a Palace player (even if we haven't seen much of him).

He’s had more posts than matches that’s for sure.

As suspected, Roy has said the reason he has not been selected is because he knew nothing at all about him, however he has been very pleased about him in training and sees a bright future for him in our midfield although he tempered that by saying that other players had trained well and saw no reason to displace them.

In short, he’s probably going to be one for next seasons manager to bring in. Roy’s maxim: why pick a good young un when you can pick a good old un. Experience is very important to Roy and Ray.

He's also been fasting during Ramadan so as he is a fringe player for Roy I suspect he thought no point in risking him when he is not a key player (yet).

Hodgson has made some positive comments about him which are encouraging. Lokonga was heralded as an excellent loan signing, but has hardly featured. Puzzling. Gallagher made a great impact as we know, which advanced his prospects at Chelsea, but the same is not the case with Lokonga. He's likely to be back of the pack when he returns to Arsenal.

Agreed. And I think fans and players alike probably needed to hear that. I wonder if they're deliberately bringing him along very slowly, letting him settle into club and country, and using the rest of this season to just bed him into a new environment rather than unnecessarily placing any expectations on him. If that's the case, then rather than being frustrated at his seemingly slow progress, perhaps we're taking a very canny longer-term view.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

I would humbly proffer that Mr Hodgson was employed until the end of the season to ensure PL survival, accordingly a 'Long-term' view does not enter the equation.

It would appear that Ahamada has not impressed him sufficiently to the extent that he is above others in the 'Pecking order' in a relegation battle.
Ahamada is inexperienced having only played in 25 games in the Bundesliga.Perhaps now that relegation has been staved off, Ahamada might be introduced to the matchday squad.

There is still pounds per position to play for and Parish will want to finish as high up the table as possible to garner as many of the readies as he can

Maybe Ahamada can become the other attacking midfield with Eze, Doucoure, Ahamada if given the chances he could be a decent signing.

Does that translate as you not thinking Roy has a chance of securing the manager's job for at least another season?

My comments are borne out of the fact that Mr Hodgson accepted the invitation to manage the team until the end of the season.
His focus has been to ensure survival from the PL,accordingly his team selections have reflected his 'Raison D'Etre'.
