My comments are borne out of the fact that Mr Hodgson accepted the invitation to manage the team until the end of the season.
His focus has been to ensure survival from the PL,accordingly his team selections have reflected his 'Raison D'Etre'.

My thinking is that he has done more than enough to justify remaining as manager. The irony would to end with Roy,get a famous player in as manager who can't manage his own backside and then with twelve games to go (facing relegation) we then re-appoint Roy again.

I don’t think any other poster would have used that phrase, if I had a hat on, I would doff it to you

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

I have always had a vision of you with a sombrero and 'Ray-Ban' sunglasses basking in the 'Sol'.
So doff that Sombrero hombre !!!

A more erudite poster would have capitalised it correctly as raison d'ętre as it shouldn't contain upper case letters

As far as Ahamada is concerned there can be only one question about him.

Is he the creative midfielder we have lacked since Cabaye departed?

If he has the makings of being one then he is a good investment but if not we already have a surplus.

The problem is that we haven't had a chance to see his ability. Maybe hindered by last season's reliance on a 'dynamo' in Gallagher which masked our long term requirements.

If he is anywhere half as good as Christian Eriksen he should be nurtured.

From what I've seen, he's more attacking than creative. Albeit no-one has seen him that much.

From the highlights i saw around the time we signed him he was quick and generally looked to be involved in breaking up play and accelerating forward. Did not seem to be involved in a lot of goals either assisting or scoring. I do remember the manager of the club in Germany was not happy about losing him. Now we are safe perhaps Roy can give him some game time to aid his development.

I can't see him getting much game time, I know he's only 21 but where does he fit in? I know sometimes Roy plays him out wide but he's a cm and with the arrival of Adam he ain't gonna get a game.

Did we waste money on him?

I think only time and a new manager will be able to answer that. For me he has a place in the squad and potential first XI player if he shows more improvement.

Agreed ,we need a squad not just a first XI ,there is no reason why Ahamada cannot be part of that . In fact from being the oldest team in town a couple of years ago the club are putting what looks like a very competent young squad together .

And we still need a striker

He's still only young, and doesn't look ready to be starting.

Might be him, or the way Roy is using him, but the issue I have Is that I don't really know where he plays.

He looks more offensive than defensive so maybe best used in a no10 to give Eze a break every so often.
