Best I can think of is Jerry Murphy. Then probably Michael Hughes and Ray Houghton, I guess you could say Clinton but he doesn't seem that Irish.

My old man, who is Irish, once remarked that Clinton was 'About as Irish as a croissant'.

I'm not sure if that was an original of his or he nicked it from somewhere, but it tickled me at the time and still does to this day

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I remember hearing that it was actually written in English originally. I don't know if that's true and haven't looked it up. Can't pretend to know the words - nor can most judging by the mumbling. The beginning and end get belted out but the middle is largely mimed. Of course, there are a few really patriotic ones that probably have the Easter Rising declaration on the mantle piece.

I've never heard that before but it would be alot easier to sing along with seen as half the words aren't even pronounced as they are written. I remember we used to go to a Catholic club in Sydenham every weekend as my dad played in a band there , they always had to play faith of our fathers at the end of the night because the anthem offended too many people. Whats the story with the Plastic scousers singing the fields of Athenry.

This could be heaven or this could be hell .

If you go to Anfield, you'll soon realise it's full of Irish over for the weekend. I went over on Ryanair last year and the plane was all Liverpool with me in my Palace away kit. In all fairness there was a guy with all the Palace gear - the coat, the works. I spoke to him and he said he was actually Liverpool but had won some kind of Palace hospitality trip. I wonder how they afford it.
