The only obvious point on display is that you refuse to accept the truth, despite it being explained to you ad nauseam.

You prefer to cling to your ridiculous idea that people must have an ulterior motive for making a decision on where to retire and when they do it removes their capacity to reason on anything that's not immediately under their noses.

Pathetic is too kind.

Ulterior motive? Not that I know of....No, I've explained a million times, it's hypocrisy.

Those who don't live by their principles, don't have them.

If you promote a diverse population for the country and then move to one of the least diverse areas in the country....that is going to be pointed out.....you are not required to like it.

I was in Dorset this weekend at a well known beauty spot, and you would think it was somewhere between Asia and Eastern Europe.

I believe what I see

you will find England in the retirement homes. Dribbling and talking about the Blitz.

An hypocrisy of claiming to be a multiculturalist while living somewhere white.

would a different flavour of hypocrite be living in Thornton Heath and professing to support the National Front ?

That would depend on their fiscal means I suppose.....rather expensive to move.

That's truly frigging ridiculous.

There is nothing at all hypocritical in deciding to retire to somewhere you have visited for most of your life and become attached to. It would be hypocritical not to and to deliberately retire elsewhere just to satisfy the nonsensical assertions of someone with the twisted logic that you have.

I am doing exactly what you suggest I am not doing. I am living by my principles. I don't like cities. I like a rural environment, fresh air, beautiful countryside and coasts. What on earth do you fail to understand about that?

We spent the afternoon today walking on Loe bar with our dog, who swam in the lake. The surf was good, the sunshine strong and the air clear. Who was there walking with us was of no importance at all. Tomorrow we will take our paddleboard to Holywell Bay, after I do some work on a flat and my wife goes to her gym.

This is the life we have chosen because we like the life. Not for any other reasons at all. You cannot walk in nice countryside, on a beach or go paddleboarding in the sea if you live in the middle of a city.

You don't get it because you don't want to.

You know precisely what the point is but as double standards are so natural for you that you just don't care.

Dick Cole, the leader of the Cornish nationalist party Mebyon Kernow, said local control over all aspects of housing and planning were needed. “Homes are on the market for ridiculous prices,” he said. “We need to find a mechanism that allows people to live in their own communities and protect the fabric of those communities.”

I don't think comparisons with China add anything to this debate. Their one-child policy to reduce their numbers, which produced a disproportionate number of men resulted in predictions of many Chinese men having to look for wives in other Asian countries.

I have no idea if those predictions are being proven true as I am no longer spending time in Asia. What I do know is it is a very different place.

" resulted in predictions ", what is that supposed to mean.
Are you saying that there were predictions of Chinese men would look outside of China for wives?

Where were these predictions, I have never heard of them

Philippines and Thailand, more so in Philippines, are now swamped with boorish old Korean men marrying young women, the M/F ratio is Korea is 1:1.

What is hypocritical is being 'attracted' to the opposite of what you promote to others.

Your promote diversity and multiculturalism but you don't live within it.

Sure, lots of people love 'rural environment', civil and well kept places....yeah shocking that one.

I'm sure there are plenty of 'diverse' places like Cornwall all over the world....according to you you've been over a fair lot of it......yet look where Wisbech ends up....superglued to whitey in Cornwall.

If you aren't attracted to what you promote for others then you will always be called out for it....if you don't like it, tough.

It's you who doesn't "get it"!

You are seeking to impose your principles on me. I am living by mine. There are no double standards involved of any kind. I reject your standards as beyond stupid.

I have no interest at all in where people were born. Only how they behave. I have 3 people living in my flats, and by the end of the week, 4. 2 were born here, and 2 are immigrants. Does it matter? Not in the least to me.

I am seriously tired of explaining the obvious to you and others will be just as tired that it's here. So if you try to raise it again it will not receive lengthy explanations. It will be dismissed summararily.

A different problem that exists all over the UK. Providing affordable homes for local people is a nationwide problem caused by the way our house-building industry operates.

In another thread only recently I explained how I met with Mebyon Kernow counsellors when developing my letting units. They enthusiastically supported the scheme as it provided what they needed.

Housing is only part of the equation.
"live in their own communities and protect the fabric of those communities.”
