I hope it's not true or it can only mean Guehi or Anderson are off.

Yep, if we're signing Schuurs then we're definitely selling one.

If Schuurs is as good as they say, signing him for £30-35m and getting £50-60m for Guehi or approx. £40m for Andersen (who is 4 years older than Schuurs) feels like pretty good business....

Schuurs, Lerma + approx. £20m (Sarr?) for the price of Guehi feels pretty smart.

Perr Schuurs for £35m, sell Guehi for £60m, use the £25m left over to buy Max Aarons. Job done, defence complete, football is so easy.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

Must admit these reports start to look as if there really is something happening, if the fee is true that’s only about £5/8 mill less than both our present two cost between them.
That’s pushing the boat well out for Palace. Very doubtful if he will just be competition.

If we spend £25m on Max Aarons we'd be an early contender for worst signing of the season. 1 year left on his deal, average year in the Championship, two awful years in the Prem, would be laughed out of a senior England squad. He's maybe worth half that?

Would far rather see Castagne, Kyle Walker-Peters or Lamptey if we were going to start spending cash on a RB.

Max Aarons Is a name put forward by people with out a lot of player knowledge. I live in Norwich and just two things about the player, he has not made the progress expected of him and he does not begin to look a 25 million player.

He is not a bad player but just like the other Norwich prospect Todd Cantwell not a high enough level for the PL.

Unless ......we will play three central defenders.

Considered it, but ruled it out for two reasons:

1) Roy Hodgson is as 'four at the back' as it gets
2) We'd have to spend so much money on the wing backs to play it than £30m+ on a centre back isn't the way to enable it.

You are probably right but Roy surprised everyone at the back end of last season and may give us a shock or two in the upcoming season.

Or move Big Joch into the holding role with Doucoure, Lerma pushing up with Eze slotting in for Wilf.

I don’t think our club signs a CB for €35m when they are already sitting on £100m of talent in that position. If we sign this lad, one of them is going. The plus is that this lad is in some way’s potentially an upgrade. He’s not got the long diagonal pass of Joachim, but he’s far more mobile and better in the air…the question is does he have the same mentality, as I do think Joachim is a good leader on the pitch. Marc is a bit more rounded as a player, but he lacks height…and that really is the only criticism I could have. He’s been a great signing. I’d be sad to see him leave.

With a number of gaps in our current squad, both full backs, forward who can score etc ……I can’t really see us spending a huge record sum on a fifth centre back. It only makes sense if we are selling someone and using less money to replace them.
