A lot of their fans seem to dislike him but he would be good for us. Fast - which we could sometimes do with at the back. My criticism would be - what is he best at? I suspect sweeper, but no one really uses them anymore. I would say he's better centrally but probably better than what we have on the right currently (which isn't exactly our strong point). I'd suspect silly wages but whatever fee could be knocked right down, I reckon. I wouldn't want to pay much. I've suspected he can't be fully happy at Liverpool but am just saying that completely off the top of my head.

We have never got a bargain from Liverpool, the opposite in fact. They are too clever for us and we should steer well clear of dealing with them however tempting it looks on paper.

I know what you mean. Just a suggestion anyway. No interest I can actually imagine. Personally think Richards is ok, plus we should see O'Brien in the friendlies. However, should Guehi be sold we could do with a replacement.

Peter Wall was alright. Long time ago admittedly.

He was good at defending free kicks.

But unfortunately none of our defenders can defend corners, we'd have been a few more places up the league if we could

I hate to criticise fellow Palace fans…but I’d suggest anyone considering Gomez as an option hasn’t been watching Liverpool for the past two years. He’s not a prem class defender…let alone a player that helps secure a top 10 position in the league. We’ve had better CBs at the club in Dann and Tomkins.

You're right there HE - I haven't seen him for ages but he looked OK back then. It wasn't as much a suggestion as a vague idea based on him being a local lad who'd possibly be available at a reasonable price. I haven't knowingly seen Schuurs play so he might be overrated at twice the price for all I know.

He's perfect for us, injury prone....

You could also add Kofi Balmer & Sean Gregan as possible replacement CB's.

I think that Richards will turn out to be better than either JA or MG, controversial

I believe he's going out on loan to Port Vale in League 1

Alan Nixon often knows what we're doing or about to do

Thanks DB, didn't know that & agreed, he does know his stuff. I see B'ham want JRS on loan, he does need Championship football, but, not sure B'ham is the right team for him.
