Given the Eze injury and crisis we're in, not a bad shout. Does a 3 month contract exist? Would give him a chance to put himself in the shop window offer a better deal elsewhere. Desperate time, desperate measures. If fit, he'd go straight into the starting 11 against Forest. Always had great work rate and decent left peg. We all want Rak-Saki to be the next Zaha but he's not currently good enough for the Prem.

I suspect he's more interested in a different career at the moment - I've seen (heard) him co-commentating on Supersports a lot recently. Edited by Hannes (03 Oct 2023 8.33pm)

Hilarious this guy hasn't played a professional game or even stepped foot on a training ground in months. If França isn't match fit after six weeks out what makes anybody think Townsend (who wasn't much use when he was here anyway) is going to give anything.

Get your facts right...he trained and played in a number of games for Burnley pre season so he is fit ...didn’t get the gig because they decided to take a different route with younger players!!

Edited by Hannes (03 Oct 2023 8.33pm) it was only last week he said he cried when he his contract was withdrawn by Burnley only 6 or 7 weeks ago so this would indicate he still wants to play football at a high level. He is commentating, but clearly is doing this now as he doesn't have another job.

Have you any better suggestions seeing as the transfer window is shut? My memory of him at Palace was that he was extremely hard working, tidy on the ball, good set piece and chipped in with the odd goal. He wasn’t a world beater for sure but merited his place in the team. The reality is we desperately need a winger and JRS has proven that he’s not ready to step up yet. I think it could suit both party’s.

In any normal circumstances I'd say god no. But I'd actually invite Andros and Yannick to come and train. If nothing else to provide some senior training opponents and pass some wisdom onto he kids. If either of them are better than we have then why not

If either of them are better than we have then why not True, but when Townsend left, it was time for him to go. He had done nothing all season. When Bolasie left, he could have stayed and been fine. However, he's had various injuries since and is not the same player. And neither were ever Wilf, quite frankly. Bolasie was strength and pace. Townsend workrate and the odd long shot. Genuinely likely to not be as good as Rak-Sakyi - who isn't really quite there yet. Or other youngsters frankly. But there's no harm in looking -I guess.
