I cannot see any problem with Townsend and Bolasie training with the team so that we can assess if it is worth putting them on a short term contract.

100% agree. We are desperately short on the wings and these 2 are unattached players with Prem experience.

Offer them a 2 week training period to see if they are still good enough. No difference to what we did with Clyne a few years back.

We best hope Ayew stays fit and Olise comes back soon. But at least we've got Schlupp and Mateta.
We've got opposition scouting teams foxed - they can't quite work out what Schlupp does either. He makes the free role look like a Subway promotion. As for the leap of Mateta - like a fish swimming upstream - the technique is indescribable, almost ephemeral.
