Son ran at Sam in goal to shut him down every time he had the ball. Edouard and Mateta both clueless.

We were never going to overcome a superior side like Spurs but we put together a very good performance. Unfortunate own goal but a classy second goal made
life difficult for us. Until we get some creativity moving forward back in our side we are always going to struggle against any premier league side. Our best is yet to come .COYP

Anybody see Roy's interview on Sky? I didn't but he's getting slated on Twitter for being really rude to the interviewer.

It was embarrassing. He kept saying “I don’t know how to answer that question. It’s not specific enough” . Just waffle like you usually do ffs! He was rude to the interviewer but to be fair she kept going .

I watched Liverpool v Toulouse last night. Although Toulouse lost 5-1 they played with a speed and approach that I haven't seen before. Liverpool matched them and technically outplayed them by a mile, but it comes home from both sides where football is heading. It's all about pace and speed. Moving the ball super fast etc.
By comparison, tonight's game was very slow. Unfortunately, we are not using speed at all and we dont have hardly any quick players. Roy keeps us very well organised but we seriously lack pace. When hughes broke through in first half, they easily caught him up.
Tottenham will not win the league, when things settle down they will be overtaken.
We are way off relegation this season, but we need to put plans in place for post Roy. There are not many managers out there with his technical ability to win points albeit at the expense of excitement.
We badly miss Eze, Olise and Zaha's old pace. Can't wait for E and O to return.
Overall not bad, but we must plan ahead now.

Van de Ven caught him up who was claimed to be the fastest defender in the German Bundesliga last season.

I thought we played very well first half, was a great game plan and looked perfectly architected for us to get something.

Had to endure my car passenger’s ritual verbal assault on Ward whilst driving home but this time I really struggled to defend him. I was aligned with that first goal and it really did not look as though there was anything inevitable or unavoidable about it. For someone with so many PL games under his belt he always looks nervous and as though he’s overwhelmed by playing in the PL. I wasn’t shocked he panicked and diverted the ball into the back of the net nor that their second came down that side, I said as the match started I expected them to target him as most teams do. That was our undoing and I left early when they began passing it around at the back with no real pressure despite us being two down.

Didn’t expect anything, I suppose not getting slaughtered is a bonus but c’est la vie. We’re really struggling without Ebz and Olise so I can’t see us doing much before they return.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Perhaps it is all getting to him or he doesn’t give a flying anymore as he came out of retirement in the first place?

I struggle to believe we didn’t even press them when 0-2 down without his instruction so that seems odd. I also cannot see how him blaming and shaming the young players publicly is conducive towards anything positive for us nor a fair stance to take.

If he wants to complain he should point the finger toward lack of attacking options and no replacement for AWB who left some time ago now surely? Two players out and we offer very little going forward, telling.

Wow. To say that is so unacceptable. Especially when he’s silent on the “starters” who have been terrible for ages. Really poor management.

Also, for those moaning about mateta standing off their keeper, edouard did the same and it is 100% coaching. That was the game plan and to not change it at 2-0 down was pathetic. Only time we stopped doing it was at 2-1 with 4 mins left which was bizarre. Result not unexpected but second half performance again is on Roy. He’ll keep us up as we know but we will have to endure poor performances every time to any top six team with zero fight shown and then rely on scraping some 1-0’s against the dross. Fine if objective only to stay up but pretty soul destroying to watch.

Not sure. Seems like he's lost the plot this evening though.

Blaming the young players is unforgivable IMO. Rak-Sak has been one of our better players in recent weeks. Franca playing his first minutes in English football after an injury. Ahamada has barely had a chance.

The thing about Roy is that despite the negative, boring football he's always had a bit of credit in the bank for being regarded as a gent. Tonight perhaps the mask has slipped a bit.

Unacceptable comment on the subs who I thought did okay.
Getting bored with Roy ball again and to think we likely have Gareth ball to come.
I love Palace but am genuinely not sure how much more dross I can stomach.
I would rather lose giving it a go to be honest and his treatment of Richards is unfathomable.
A lot 20 something who is fitter, faster, stronger and so on than Ward cannot get on the pitch?
Piss poor management and maybe time to move on after tonight.
This is not a pant wetting rant - to those that will say it is.
I want to be entertained as well as support us and see us strive to get better.
We are going backwards
