Smith Rowe is a good shout, 68k a week, cover Ayew and Eze, Chelsea need to offload for FFP reasons, they have 14 players over 100k a week, Chalobah 77k a week, both in our price range loan to buy in the summer, when we sell, probably Andersen.

In conversation with a learned gentleman the other day, he told me that both Smith-Rowe and Chalobah were on loan at Huddersfield at the same time.

The two obvious signings to me seem to be Chalobah, loan with obligation to buy, and Reiss Nelson loan with option to buy, or am i missing something.

Good shout, Lanzo

Will Smith Rowe really come as cover?

I think he will start in Ayews place, then he has 4/5 games to impress or not as the case may be

Born in Croydon and has been referred to as the "Croydon De Bruyne".
He has family who support both Arsenal and Tottenham, and I am not sure whether his formative years were actually spent south of the river.

I was somewhat reliably informed he was a Palace fan in his youth Willo. That's not to say that's true before considering things may have changed however. I also received that information long before he featured with any frequency for Arsenal and was therefore linked with us.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I can't see Smith-Rowe coming to us on loan.

As for cover for Ayew, again I can't see anyone coming in for that. Club won't bring in a player that will block Franca's route into the team after only recently signing him and him not having had a lot of game time yet. Franca will cover Ayew with Rak-Sakyi on the bench.

Most likely will be a CM on loan, although interesting if this will even happen with Richards doing well in the position at the moment.

I'd suggest that's a good view on things.

I think they'll stick with Mateta/Edouard as our Striker options and likewise Ayew/Franca for LW, on the presumption Olise stays fit.

The cover for Doucoure would seem the obvious move as I've given up hope on the club ever acknowledging the full back positions let alone addressing them.

I agree about the fullbacks, especially RB. Feel I say every window we should get an upgrade in the position.

To me, for what it's worth, is the most logical replacement for Ayew, is Schlupp. He is, after all, left footed, & at least he does help out Mitchell.

If other transfer windows are anything to go by we will spend 2/3 of it discussing whether Dazza's is a fake or the rumours he provides are genuine.
Hard to call what will happen and what if any funds we have. At the end of the summer window 2 apparent deals bombed at the last minute one of which i am speculating was Lewis Hall. This hopefully suggests there is some if not much money available.
Clyne has done well so not overly worried about right back in this window, left back we have been crying out for cover for a while. Hopefully one of JRS or Ebiowei can get some championship experience. Is Ozoh capable of providing cover for Richards ? I don't think so and it is a key position. So a loan to cover Doucoure looks to be a key requirement to me. Personally i would like a quick striker who can run in behind a defence to give us options but with both current strikers doing ok this is not essential.
I get the feeling we are expecting to cash in one of our stars at some stage and plotting to strengthen the squad with more younger players.
Can anyone explain how the financial fair play rules work so we can understand if the club is under any obligations to sell or are we free to buy given we may not have much money in any case ?

Kelvin Phillips would be the number 1 target for me.

Then very open to a Reiss Nelson, or a Smith Rowe loan.
