I think Alan Shearer is about right in his MOTD comments, and crossed fingers won't get relegated. but we have a small squad, loads of injuries, some promising young players not ready for the PL, and the small matter of a Stand to build. We had £50k a week Tomkins on the bench who has played almost 400 games at CB and we had a very good up and coming CB who we allowed to move to Lyons for c£850k (1m EUR). These decisions have come back to bite us.

i agree with the switch to a back 4, however, the limited CB options are partly our own doing. We had £50k a week Tomkins on the bench who has played almost 400 games at CB and we had a very good up and coming CB who we allowed to move to Lyons for c£850k (1m EUR). These decisions have come back to bite us.

There was zero point resigning Tomkins. Its quite clear that he's not up to the pace of the game at this level.
