Limahl had another hit - "Only For Love"
Right Said Fred had several big hits

This thread is collapsing - people are just naming old songs that they liked!!

Is it just me, or did the Village People only produce YMCA?

They did another classic - In the Navy!

And 'Go West'!

In the Summertime - Mungo Jerry

Never heard anything else from them. They released an LP that sold purely on the strength of the hit, but it sank without trace here in NZ. Good song and a hit, and still being played on the radio.

As for industry-manufactured one-hit pop records (shoot the video then sell the song before the clothes go out of fashion)I seem to recall years ago, our 10 year old bopping about to something by a perky duo called Hayze Fantayzee??? Or something like that ?? Shine?? Dunno - a long time ago.
Crap song but it was a hit.

I bought that! "John Wayne Is Big Legee" but I can't recall a single note of it now.

Their front man was Jeremy Healy (the naff garage DJ)
