What if christianity is wrong and everything else is right?

I would also like to pose the following fact to you.

In Christainity only a few people saw jesus come back from the dead. And even then there are contradictions in the gospels as to the event that they witnessed.

In Islam only mohammad had an experience with god, which he then told to the people, and from there the religion was born.

In Judaism the whole jewish people (600,000 people - as written in the old testament), on the exodus from egypt, stood at mount sinai and heard god together. Thus, only in judaism was they're a public experience which more than one person testafied to.

Now i ask, which is more believable - a religion based on the testamony of a single individual, or a religion in which 600,000 people claim o of had the same experience?

I didnt mean to turn this board into "mine is better than yours".

The point of my post was to find out if there was a sensible response to what i think is a valid point.

I have no problem with Judaism, they just believe the OT right? Well I believe the OT as well, but I believe the NT which Jews don't.

Christianity and Judaism both began when the 600,000 heard.

Christianity is only different in that we believe Jesus was the Messiah prophesised in the book Isaiah.

Interesting that Isaiah said that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem, would be despised and mocked, people would say you can save yourself etc, and that He would die on a tree shaped like a cross.

Im only having a laugh mate. I dont think there is a sensible answer to most of the questions asked on this thread. I think its all a bit past us to prove who's right. The debating has been good though. Although we do need a strong Muslim to really get the thread going

I agree with you sexyeagle.

For me the most important thing is that people are good to each other, and show humanity and compassion to their fellow man.

Matt, though completely differing from you views on the topic, I respect your right to air them and recognise you have true conviction in your beliefs. I find however your dismissive attitudes to other religions, particularly Islam, as breathtaking. It's little wonder that the Islamic world views the Christian West with such disdain and suspicion if your vision of Christianity is the norm. With western leaders like Bush and Blair, both arguably Christian fundamentalists , espousing secularism in the Islamic world whilst pursuing Christian agendas at home, is it any wonder?

I don't understand, what views am I supposed to have?

Must I ignore the evil verses in the Koran, just to be politically correct?

How can I say I respect what Muslims believe, when I know the evil in their book?

I could be all fake for you if you like, but what does that achieve, yeah maybe more people would like me, but having read the Koran I couldn't do that in good conscience.

Personally, I realise I have more in common spiritually with those of other religions than with those of none.
That doesn't mean I think they're right, it does mean I've had very peaceful yet thought-provoking discussions.
Re. religious diffences causing conflict, I think I've said something similar before, but I'll say it again:
To my knowledge, all religions carry a message of peace, not violence. It is not the religions being evil that cause war, but people being evil and using a religion as a banner to fight their war under.
People support all manor of different football teams, yet very few of those choose to display those differences with acts of violence, and those that do tend to be dispaired of by the peaceful majority. It's the same for those of different religions (only, a little more serious in their differences, I grant you!!)
