The club announced today that certain team members will perform a song in front of the Brighton crowd for their next home game against Cardiff City. So-called stars Charlie Oatway, Richard Carpenter, Gary Hart and Frederico Turienzo will perform to raise money for a new stadium for the club. "Yeah we're really excited about this new challenge," said Hart. "We feel that with a few dance routines and some rhyming words, we can raise money to get out of this dump." Oatway added: "I've invited my mum to the game, as I want her to see me perform well in front of the crowd for once."
McGhee expressed his enthusiasm for the project. "I think it's splendid. I've told the players that they don't need to do any football training so they can concentrate on their dance routines. I always wanted to be in a band when I was a young lad, so I can understand this being a dream for the players. I just hope they choose me as their manager."

Rumours circulated today that Argentina football legends Diego Maradonna and Ossie Ardiles are interested in investing in the club, though the club was quick to make an announcement to the press. "I can safely say we have had no contact with either person regarding this. At the moment, all we are interested in is making sure we can raise enough money to build a new stadium. But if either player is interested in playing for us, then if they can call me, that'll be great. I've got some spare footie boots in the office somewhere, so all they need to do is pay for their plane ticket here."

Rehersals continued apace for C-Gullz, with Brighton's new boyband taking singing lessons from club physio Toby Pennyfather. "They're all tone-deaf, apart from Gary who I think actually is deaf," said Pennyfather. The dance routine was proving equally hard to master. "I told them to warm up by just doing whatever they'd do in a nightclub. So three of them buggered off down the pub whilst Freddie started asking my daughter whether she wanted to see his flat. I'm not best pleased, really."
Meanwhile, the rest of the squad put in some advance preparation for Cardiff's forthcoming visit, by watching Charlotte Church's latest video.

With internationals this weekend, McGhee gives the players the day off from training. Guy Butters rounds up a few squad members for a kickaround in the park, suggesting they challenge some local teenagers to a game for a laugh. He is a little disheartened when they lose 14-6.

Kerry Mayo's testimonial season began in style last night, with a great night of amateur boxing at Hove Town Hall organised by The Ginger Prince himself.
"I've always felt that, as the club's longest serving player, it's my duty to inspire the youngsters in this town," said Mayo. "Whether it's to pick up a football, or beat the crap out of their mates as half the town cheers them on, baying for blood, it's just good to keep them away from the slot machines on the pier. Those things can destroy you. Why do you think Brighton are so skint anyway?"
The night was slightly soured, however, when Charlie Oatway turned up in a Don King wig.

Leon Knight today publicly stated he was looking for a new deal at Brighton.
"Yeah man, I is down on my luck. I need a new contract what says they can't fine me. I had to borrow my girl's razor the other day, you get me?" When asked whether he felt hurt by not being asked to join C-Gullz, he shrugged off the snub. "Nah, I'm more gangsta, y'get me? They're like Take That or Westlife, I'm street, bruv. Like Blue."

C-Gullz begin their promotional tour with an angelic choral performance in three local churches tonight. Toby Pennyfather declares the evening a success, as the group are only booed off in two of them.
"We're really reaching out to the youngsters in Hove," he said. "The girls just turning 60, 65: that's our key demographic." Although he remains tight-lipped about their plans, it is rumoured they will be going the G4 route by doing an operatic version of Iron Maiden's "Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter".
