While this has been a pretty interesting thread, the one thing that has disappointed me is that there's been no counter-argument. As I see it, there's three camps on this battlefield. There's the camp that I'm in, which is people that are basically right wing (I'm not talking 'extreme' right-wing here) who believe it's time to stand up for England and the down-trodden English. There's the opposite camp of basically left-wing people and people of non-British decent that feel that the wishes and concerns of England's native populace is less important than the wishes and concerns of immigrant’s and minority groups and then there's the camp which is the middle ground. As I see it we've had one or two from my camp contribute to this thread, plenty from the middle ground and as I see it, only HMHS has had the balls to contribute to this argument from his camp, which is a sad state of affairs! This hasn't been a slanging match, it's been an orderly discussion, so where's the likes of Bexter now? Where's Cider-Eagle! If i'm the prosecution, where's the defence? I want to hear their take on all this.

After reading all of this thread here are my views..... I think this country is being over populated with too many immigrants who see this country as an easy way to make money and not have to lift a finger, but does this make me a racist, or am I just one of millions who see the big picture and are worried for my children's future and England losing its own identity. I have black, Asian and Greek friends but that doesn't not stop my feeling animosity towards a group a black teenagers who I know are just out to cause trouble cause they know if anyone touches them they can just throw the racist card at them !

If I was out with my mates and we had an argument with a group of Black or Asian kids and one of them got a kicking it would be a racist attack even if no racist words were exchanged, if it was the other way around and I got a kicking it would be serious assault !!!!!

What does annoy me is when people call me a racist, im not a racist im just proud to be English- and it seems to me that this is a wrong thing to be in this day and age, proud of were you come from !!!!

I have a South African flag because my Fiance is South African and everytime I see it it reminds me how lucky I am to have found her !!!!

Excellent post! In today's terms, you are a racist, you should ask yourself though; do you give a s***? I don't think you were wrong in anything you said and it's a perfect example of my whole argument, every bit as valid as my little old lady and like her; you are neither evil nor dangerous and you don't practise racist abuse, so what's the big problem? Why do you and your opinions have to be eradicated? You've seen the good and bad in people and you've made your own mind up, that's what is supposed to happen in a free country!

I would recommend anyone with an interest in this topic to get a copy of today's Times and read the article about how immigrants feel in other countries. I stick by my original point: this country, considering its size and population density, deals with non-white immigration far better than other, so-called 'civilised' nations. Having said that, I am of the opinion that allowing immigration to the degree that we do and promoting other cultures at the expense of our own Britishness in a sea of politically correct garbage is a recipe for disaster.

Read the Times article. It's excellent.

Anyone who knows me know what I think. We at the moment are having racial problems in Antwerp because a Morrocon immigrant was killed by some crazy old man who felt threathened in his own neighbourhood where he'd lived all his life. He felt more and more uncomfortable as he saw less white people and more immigrants who formed gangs, dealt drugs, stole cars, mugged old people etc... it was a viscious circle which has made him do this (and, by the way, shoot the wrong person as this Morrocon was a teacher and was just trying to help an old scared man).
Since then we have seen 3 unsettled nights, Morrocons out on the streets burning cars, destroying shop windows, calling racial slogans and hailing their "leader" Abou Jahjah as the new Ossama Bin Laden who will free them from all the white scum who still dare to live in this country (which, by the way, is their own).

I can talk for ages and ages about racial abuse, difference in races (some you gel with, other you can't because they are just too different). I do not think this is racism, it's realism. Some people have such a different attitude, upbringing and religion that there is NO way these cultures can live together. But they still all keep coming !!!!

And our governments (French, English, Belgian, Dutch, German .. the whole of Western Europe)are too tolerant because none of them want to be branded as racists. And in the meantime we have become second-row citizens in our own country and pushed aside by people who have no problem giving it large with their holy book in their hands.

Am I racist ? Well, maybe a bit but anyone who would be realistic enough to open their eyes would be able to see what is happening.

No problem with helping other cultures ... IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY. I'll visit them on my holidays and they can visit me on theirs. And I'm happy to learn what they think and how their culture works BUT DON'T STUFF IT DOWN MY THROAT WHILST YOU HUNT US DOWN IN OUR OWN COUNTRY.

Little PS : Never brush Germans over the same brush as Germans. Germans are actually nice people willing to listen to anyone, don't let one man (who was actually Austrian) fool you into hating Germans. Now French people ..... GO AHEAD coz they are indeed all nobheads

Just one man's view, I know. And HMHS, Bexter etc.. will probably have a totally different view. I invite them to walk the streets of North Antwerp tonight !!! (I will NOT)

Well i haven't posted any thoughts on this but, my feelings are with pete "the country is being over populated with too many immigrants who see this country as an easy way to make money and not have to lift a finger".

I would also like to point out during the Kosovan Crisis they shipped a load of kosovans over and they put them in my old school.

There was a whole class of 30 odd of them learning to speak english, One of them was 21 (he had a baby face) and everyone knew how old he was but the teachers didnt want to do nothing about it. The other was 17 and he wanted to learn the vaule of money. and get a job, i still see him sometimes, he has his own barber shop, and is proud how his life has change. The other was saying how he came to this country getting free food and clothes and equipment ie PC. and he was walking around with "Nike TN" trainers worth £120 and he lives in a 4 bedroom council house with his brother.

The point of this is that they were only brought into this country Temp. and one of them made an attempt to help himself, and the other couldn't give 2 monkeys thats why the one with the barber shop is still here and the other has been flown back to his home country.

Good post Jollystef you daft racist , again, in today's terms you are 'racist' and I'm sure some people will read your post and tut-tut their way through it, but I agree; some cultures are just too different to work together, nowhere in the world has multi-culturalism worked out to be the utopia we're told it's meant to be. All this can only end one way and that's certainly not utopia, it's ghetto mentality and civil unrest throughout the whole of Europe, and to add insult to injury, you're expected to sit back and watch it happen because you get branded a racist if you speak out! In the same respect, all our grandfathers must have been daft racists for not wanting Germans flooding the country, eating us out of house and home! We'd all be goose-stepping now if Hitler had just got half a million of his stormtroopers to apply for asylum!

Unfortunately, the Times site requires registration to get the article. I've copied and pasted it here below. Apologies for the length but it does make interesting reading.

QUOTE:

No racism please, we're British
by SEAN THOMAS
The British are xenophobes, says the foreign secretary — but immigration rates are rocketing. Our correspondent explains why Britain is so popular

THE BRITISH are racist. Everyone says so. The Macpherson Report told us that the British police service was institutionally racist. The Council of Europe said that our attitudes to asylum-seekers were racist. In June we learnt that British universities were racist, and in August that British television was racist. Now the Foreign Secretary, Jack Straw, has decided that the British Empire is responsible for many of the world’s ills, continuing a theme he began in 2000 when he declared that we were all aggressive, xenophobic, and . . . racist.
A visitor from another planet could be forgiven for thinking that the British are a reincarnation of the Nazis. Only with less reliable trains. But is it true? And, if it is true, why are so many asylum-seekers in Calais and elsewhere so keen to get here? Do refugees want to get to Britain because we speak English (which they have learnt), because we’re prosperous (which they’re not), and because we don’t insist on ID cards (which they fear)? Or is it, as I believe, partly because we’re actually a lot less racist than many other nations?

The idea that we’re not, comparatively, that racist flies in the face of all the propaganda. But science supports it. In the 1990s, the Canadian Journal of Behavioural Science published a report that makes remarkable reading. Especially for any guilty white Briton nursing bruises on his head from Straw’s rhetorical rolling-pin.

The Canadian scientists were seeking to find out which ethnic group was most ethnocentric; they also wanted to know how various ethnic groups perceived each other: how “comfortable” they felt in the presence of other races. They interviewed large numbers of people from 14 ethnicities: British, French, German, Sikh, Ukrainian, Jewish, Indo-****stani, and so on.

They discovered that almost every racial group felt most comfortable with members of their own racial group. The main exception to this was the Germans, who confessed that they felt slightly more comfortable being with the British than with other Germans. The most ethnocentric peoples, the most racially self-preferring, were the French and the Jews; the British were apparently much less ethnocentric.

The second important finding, for Britons, was that almost every other ethnic group expressed a preference for being with the British than any other group apart from their own. Of course, there are objections. Perhaps the report caught a fleeting and unrepresentative moment. But one of the report’s compilers, Rudolf Kalin, says that the findings echo those of a similar survey 20 years earlier and the evidence shows that “such deeply ingrained attitudes are unlikely to quickly change”.

What about the ethnic make-up of Canada? In a largely white country such as Canada, white people are a positive reference point. But the fact is that the 14 ethnic groups also agreed in their feelings about each other, white and non-white; they didn’t just concur on the British, they agreed on an overall hierarchy.

Some further conclusions must be drawn. Everyone is racist, if racism is defined as ethnocentrism. But some people are less racist than others. People such as the Brits. This ties in with British history. Perhaps it’s because we’re an island tribe, constantly treading the oceans and encountering strangers; perhaps it’s because this is a crowded country — so densely packed that people have to learn to get along and not snoop. Whatever, we have a culture of tolerance and healthy indifference.

From the off the British were tolerant. In Roman days London was known for its cosmopolitanism. In the medieval era there were outbreaks of racial violence (the pogrom of the Jews of York in 1190 was a disgraceful example). But there was nothing to compare to the anti-Semitic bloodbaths in Germany during the Crusades, to the savageries of the continental Wars of Religion.

But what about the British Empire? Surely that was the ultimate expression of our national racism, as Straw would have it? Depends how you read it. And how you read it is: no, the British Empire was not racist. Yes, our imperial endeavour may have been an exercise in ruthless conquest, but that’s about it. Although there were “British” atrocities in India, Tasmania and Ireland, there was nothing to compare with the savagery inflicted by the Belgians in the Congo (where mutilation was used to discipline the natives).

And of course the British Empire, staffed by those xenophobic white British males who Straw loves to hate, was responsible for the abolition of slavery in 1833. The Pax Britannica was used, against Britain’s commercial interests, to wipe out the nastiest exudation of racism the world has ever seen. Where were the French, Brazilians, Arabs, Americans and large parts of black Africa in 1833? Still slaving, that’s where.

Of course, all is not rosy in Britain. There have been race riots. In big cities there is friction. Everywhere there is resentment. But I think these are more likely to be symptoms of our neurotic and wrong-headed attitude to race than any intrinsic racism. After all, this is the country where, in the months before D-Day, black American GIs burst into tears when they found themselves being treated as equal human beings for the first time in their lives.

As you already know I don't consider myself racist but a realist . If people tut-tut through my message then that's a pity, they might wake up one day from their holiday on cloud nine and realise what they've known is all gone.
Now the fact that reality has turned into a bit of racism is not because of me but because of what is happening to my country (actually the whole of Western Europe).

What is happening here unfortunately is a real advertisement for the extreme-right party. They are gaining votes left, right and center. Those immigrants are too stupid to see they have become living and free commercials for the extreme-right lunatics who at the next election will probably all vote for the same man who then will become mayor of Antwerp. Wonder where that will take us !!

On a different note : Good post Cucking, interesting read !!
