If Allardyce gets the job, this meltdown will seem minor. He has achieved nothing other than survival. If that's enough for the "sack Pardew now" bunch, you lack ambition. What is wrong with trying to change that style of play? He will not change it. He has one style of play. Survival. Playing dull, defensive games. After a year of that type of dross, you all would be calling for a change. By which time we would be back to where we are. Surviving. I hear everyone saying how we should be doing better with the team we have, and I agree, but most of them are too used to playing dull, defensive football. We need to move on, and Pardew, love him or hate him, has changed the way we play.

Nothing, if it's working and you have the personnel to make it work. But to persist with a system that is seeing you ship goals and throw away points, resulting in an inexorable slide down the table, is just madness. It's become about survival now, plain and simple; the time for experimenting is over (for now). We need to grind out some ugly results to stay in the PL; do that and then we can start thinking about how we can pretty things up.

Totally agree, time to forget all Pardew's fancy transitional nonsense and refusal to change.
Facts are,we gleaned one point from the games against relegation favourites Burnley, Swansea and Hull.
Shocking results, all of which have left us one point above the drop zone and should we lose against Watford and Arsenal,it will be a challenge for even Allardyce to turn our season around.
If we do lose the next two games and Pardew is not sacked, then I assume SP is planning to rebuild in the Championship.

Neither can I, it'd be the economics of the madhouse; chucking away hundreds of millions to save a few million compensation and gambling on a quick return to the PL.

Well for one, I am not sure these titles apply as readily as you imply.

If we take out the labels for both men I would still rather Pardew.

If we go back to the labels, then I would not want any of them associated with the club but given what we know it is Pards everytime.

One who has made mistakes and appears to be trying to sort himself out V a chancer (at best) who doesn't appear to have learned his lesson.

I don't like Allardyce but I thought it was great that England finally had a manager that looked like he had just won the lottery. Grinning from ear to ear he looked like a Cheshire cat. Sadly it appears that it was for the £ signs.

Whether Allardyce would be good for us or not, he still has the threat of FA action once the police investigation is finished hanging over him.

the dignified don't even enter in the game

I can't understand why peeps want Pards to stay, He's got a s***e record and looks like he'll take us down.

Zaha looks like he's on his way in Jan (I know Spurs and Liverpool are interested) Lets face it who wants to play for a struggling prem side.

For me Rafael Benitez who be the man to take over but that's not gonna happen so we are left with Big Sam, Coleman, Roy or Harry.

Big Sam or Harry have got to be better options than Coleman or Hodgson.

would rather Hodson.

I know it didn't work for him at Liverpool but his record at Fulham was fantastic.

Not a fan. Mind you, I was not that happy we chose AP either and he had a great first year and a half. Stayed up twice and got to a cup final. Maybe Allardyce can do better than that.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it.
