If we stay up then the price is irrelevant. Interesting to see what would happen next season when Papa Souare comes back. Competition for places? Surely not!

as much as we all want to see Paps back on the pitch, despite him training now, I think its going to be someway thru next season before he's fighting fit and ready to roll....cant come too soon tho. lets hope we get to see what we've been missing then and still in the prem

Clinton is Clinton. I have known him for a long time, I know his mother... Simon Jordan

I would imagine Papa will be a squad player if Van Aanholt establishes himself during the rest of this season. In fact if we do actually stay up and target a true quality left winger in the summer then you might see Papa being let go. Van Aanholt and Schlupp can both play left back so you might consider one more left sided signing as the end of road for Papa.

Don't even joke about such things as it's happened before when we signed Jack Hunt who managed to break his foot a couple of days after joining us

14 Mill is just ridiculous.
We gotta get better scouts/negotiators, everyone else is paying way less or loaning in better players. (except Middlesbrough paying 10mill for Bamford )

Perusing the 'ready to go' Sunderland forum, he doesn't seem very highly thought of by their lot. Probably a case of sour grapes, supporters scorned and all that.
Could turn out to be a key buy by Allardyce.

The closer this deal gets, the worse they rate him => sour grapes indeed if you ask me.

Looking forward to see us play with a real/decent left back again (if this gets finalized of course).

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

He was some kind of super hero on the very same forums 10 months ago.

As I said, no doubt a case of sour grapes.

We don't know that this is what we are paying. Most likely it is "rising to £14 million" and some of it may well be linked to some pretty unlikely scenarios.

Who is it that is paying less, or loaning in better players?
