I am a big admirer of the moderation on this site. I leave 'admiration' of the mods themselves up to Cucking.

When someone says something unacceptable then the users of the site should - and tend to - put them in their place. This is social meeja after all.

And then, when someone is really naughty, we get a good ole fashioned lynching. Nothing better.

I say man up people.

We rarely agree about most things on here Maple, but I can always rely on the fact that you will oppose my views with a courteous respectful dialogue and hopefully I try to do the same.

The OP is from Bristol like myself, and I'm pretty sure calling someone a pr1ck is not acceptable on the streets round here, so should not be acceptable on an online debating forum either!

I was not saying a lynching instead of having the Mods police the site. Quite the opposite, I made it clear I admire the Mods and their application of the site rules. My point is that when someone is on the border we don't have to leave it to the Mods. I believe the OP has received strong support to his point, whether or not the person about whom he complains has been carded.

Personally I can see a rationale to card said person. And by the way his point is total sh*t, I have more confidence in the average Czech or Pole than people from Maidenhead for example.

Ah yes, so you were

I once had a nasty experience with someone in Maidenhead. I have decided that all people in Maidenhead are not to be trusted, especially those with blue rinses.

Actually I spent a very entertaining Saturday evening in a Maidenhead pub a few years back whilst boating with friends on the Thames from Reading to Richmond on a long weekend.

It was an open mike/jam evening and the local fit totty were very congenial and the ales flowed abundantly as we had a whale of a time singing Louie Louie etc.

My opinion of Maidenhead is therefore a positive one!

EDIT: Normal Service resumed.... hahaha

Yes, but unless someone is actually offended by a loose generalisation, that may or may not be in jest etc, we have a tendency to let it slide.

General Talk is a place where 'offence' is a broader concept than the obvious.

I always quite liked Maidenhead. A few of my friends lived there, so it was quite congenial for a night out - only problem was most of the option for a drink later than midnight were a bit s**t.

The women of Maidenhead are indeed very congenial, and the name of the town maybe somewhat ironic given the number of rather enjoyable casual engagements I found myself in over the years.
