I personally don't think it's a 'sense of entitlement' to ask for the same opportunities that other generations had.

I think it's disgraceful to charge people £50k+ for their education.

In the last ten years, the average deposit for a first time buyer in this country doubled from £16,000 to around £32,000. In London it's closer to £90,000. The average home now costs around eight times the average salary, which has doubled in twenty years.

It's not possible to just 'work hard and save' for a house these days, particularly in London with the cost of renting. Oh, and by the time we retire (at a later age) our pensions are going to be completely screwed.

Sense of entitlement my arse.

I vote for an MP to represent me, and make decisions on my behalf. If that MP is the leader of the party and they win an election, they get to be PM. If they are PM, one of the decisions they'll normally make is nominating the British representative on the EU commission.

I also vote for an MEP who represents me and votes on my behalf on all laws that the commission come up with, and vote for the President and endorse the commissioners and can block appointments.

If you don't like the make up of the commission, vote for a different MEP who shares your position, or vote for a party who will nominate a different representative?

I'm willing to bet that without the aid of Google 90% of people on here couldn't name their MEP if their life depended on it !!

Exactly. Which renders the pathetic boo-hooing of the losing Remain camp utterly void.

Good answer and I agree with you. Your kids like mine all have good jobs and own their own houses due to the fact they worked there socks off getting an education without asking for free college fees and then doing a long apprenticeship and are now earning a decent wage.
The youngsters who jumped on the bandwagon and voted for free EVERYTHING with Corbyn I feel sorry for as they will more than likely get a rude awakening when they end their college days and have a degree on butterfly farming or something just as silly and end up on the streets or poor Mum and Dad bailing them out. We see these youngsters every day and night in Plymouth just wasting their lives and money away. All they think of is p1ssing up and sh@gging and letting all the local people pay council tax and other bills so these so called budding scientists can live it up at university. I bet there are thousands of Palace fans that never went to Uni but instead worked hard for where they are today and did not sponge off the state but made a decent life for themselves. The youngsters of today are what I call "The Something for Nothing Generation" and who blame us oldies for everything including tuition fees and think they should be entitled to all the luxuries they want for nothing. Its a sad state we have let them get into this way of thinking.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

I wouldn't like it if we had a Prime Minister the population didn't have a say about.

I would say it is the fault of the system. Another layer of government? Who'd of thunk it? We need LESS government in my opinion, even at a local level you have pissy little towns in the UK of say 50/60 thousand people which are top heavy with too many local councillors dipping their noses in the trough. The same with MPs far to many over 600 of the scumbags. Slash it to half the amount pay them a decent salary & let them earn their money for a change. in other words be truly transparent & accountable. LESS is Best!!

No I don't want your arse...or is that you acting like one.
If you can't afford London..move out side of it a bit,it is what my eldest son did.
And my eldest daughter pays £1200 per month in rent, and works 2 jobs to do it.her other half works full time to,but they have a good life and her daughter doesn't want for anything, she is 9 and unlike all her friends does not have a mobile, because her parents do not think she should have one in till she starts secondary school.
Parameters..
Of course she would like to buy,but she also knows it won't be for a while, and then probably just co ownership.
My point is she has a good life...

Isn't there a degree on studying David Beckham?

I never went to Uni. I stopped at A-Levels when I realised I needed money to help support my single mother and my two younger brothers. Worked my socks off to where I am now, Mortgage, 3 kids and a wife next year (If she is lucky!).

Which is why I prefer my kids to go for Apprenticeships rather than Uni.

This one of my biggest problems, why the hell does everyone need to go to university, as you said we don't have enough building trades now.
Apprenticeships are the way forward for both boys and girls.
My younger son could have gone to uni if he really wanted to,but he chose the army, and loves it he's now a corporal
,has seen a lot of the world( the nasty bits to),but as any squaddie past or present will tell you he has mates that he will have for the rest of his life.
