I watched the presser live. The thing that struck me most is that Parish is no longer the best dressed man at the club. Nicer hair though.

If you don't look at the calibre, in terms of strength in depth. We have 3 goalkeepers, 2 Rb's , 3Lb's, 3 cb's, 4 wingers (including Kai Kai ), midfielder central- attacking and defensive- 7 central midfield (including the likes of LCY and Johnny Williams), 2 strikers 25 man squad That 24 men squad including the likes of fringe players like mutch , chungy and younger players like Kai Kai and j.williams I personally feel we need 4 to 6 players to improve the strength in depth. As FDB said he wants to make an assessment before signing players.

Pretty sure our budget and an extensive list of targets will already have been agreed with FDB during the process which preceded yesterday's announcement. Along with a list of secondary targets if our first choices fall through. Time is of the essence and I doubt a high-profile manager would agree to join in the absence of a considerable commitment from the club.

Parish is still the best dressed man, you don't wear the same colour shirt as your jacket Frank, at least he didn't have a black tie as well like Chris Tarrant on Millionaire - I liked his nod to pragmatism - win first philosophy second - he wasn't looking forward to splurging cash and that was b*ll*x from the beeb (stop arguing like c*nts please - the mods shud be stopping s***e like this - soooooooo boring), and he never referred to us as Cryshtal Palash or the Eaglesh so his English is coming on nicely.

I have to say that both Parish and FDB cut svelte figures and they were the very portrait of suave aplomb.Certainly both were easy on the eye.

Now I have lived in England for a while, but I would not consider that good English.... Mind you, there is a chap at Everton who really is "tenenkrommend" (toe bending) as we say in Dutch You are right with the danger of taking things literally. I liked the interview he gave. I shall be honest: I am not at all sure he is a good fit for us, but I do think he is a decent bloke. Lets hope he proves me wrong! Originally posted by dreamwaverider
Too much analysis going on of what FdB said.

The Dutch and the Germans (for example) often speak better English than we do because they give a t0$$ about grammar and correctness whereas many English speakers do not. However, English as a language is heavily dependent on nuance and subtleties in its vocabulary and usage and it is difficult to be really in tune with all that if you are not a native speaker, notwithstanding that English probably has more non-native speakers worldwide than any other language.
