What immature response, while Steve parish has done great things for the club it's doesn't mean his immune from criticism.

Our squad won't look the same as it does now come the end of August. I think that management team have looked at the squad as it is and think that we have enough to pick up points in the opening fixtures as we are. The final tweaks will be made as players start to pop up for the right price when the transfer market become more fluid, toward the end of August. Relax, I'm sure the club know what they are doing.

The lack of being be ready for start of the season most seasons, giving the manager the resources from the beginning of the season. I remember when freedman was in charge and we sold scannell, ambrose and it took until the end of Aug to bring in moritz, bolasie and Gabbidon. The beginning of the premier league season Ian Holloway scattergun signing approach, leaving out grandin and maranage. The next season, the Tony pulis walk out season didn't invest which led to pulis walking out. We moved later in the window signing mcarthur and Zaha but panic buys of Doyle and aging AJ on deadline day. The following season our most prepared seasons in my opinion bought in wickham and cabaye early. Last season great signings in Benteke, Townsend and Tomkins but not enough depth was bought in the squad and sold Jedinak and never replaced him effectively. Also due to the lack of depth in the squad, big Sam invested over 50m in January, while it was a good window in terms of useful additions. In my opinion could of been avoided if we invested in depth in August. This season looks promising signings in RLC,Riedewald and fosu Mensah but while these players are young and talented they are plugging holes rather than solving a long term solution. There's no option to buy these players and we have the same player problem next summer. Also our current squad depth is worrying, yes we got some good players but concerned that we 2 injuries away from crisis. I'm not expecting us to spend 30m on one player but I would like more depth in the squad. The 2 big deals that I think we massively missed out on is Tete (3.75m) who joined Lyon and begovic who joined b'mouth. Imagine them two in our current squad. I sorry to be so negative but I think it gonna be a long hard season and the transition from defence first football to a possession game, needs players that are comfortable in that environment.

We all want Palace to win, having said that Steve parish hasn't overseen relegation and does make the right decision in the end even if it's drag out. Coyp

If your looking to support a money no object, buy everyone you feel like club, your in the wrong place.
Your constant criticism of Parish is boring, he is not perfect ( very few, if anyone is )but he has done alright so far.

Where on earth does this all come from?

Name a single EPL club that is fully 'prepared' for the coming season. Every manager interviewed is saying they still want 2,3 or more signings & it's the same every year. Even big clubs like Manure with their magic money tree are struggling to get the players they want in - partly due to hugely inflated prices & partly agents playing games to make as much as possible. The forums of every club you look at are full of threads like this so if you think we're actually any better or worse than others then think again - it's simply about levels of expectation.

And why did we "miss out" on Begovic & Tete (or any other alleged transfer)? That assumes we were interested in the first place and those players would want to come to South London. Media fiction has had us linked with an endless line of players which has been proven as bulls**t.

Football is now a highly complex money pit & those running the club know far more about it than we ever will. The manager will know what he wants and, more importantly, who he wants and that's where their efforts will be concentrated.

Ultimately, FdB & SP will have to live with those decisions and, whilst we can bleat & moan about them, surely we should understand that they are acting in what they believe are the best interests of the Club.

If folk can't simply be behind the Club until given a genuine reason for concern then they're following the wrong sport altogether.

Indeed it doesn't.

However i think what you need to do to silence the Parish faithful (like me) is point to a potential deal for a Premier League standard striker that we had in the bag but failed to complete because of his failings.

Like Newcastle fans could do about Mike Ashley.

This is a challenge for you because, all things being equal, and us being a club that even in the Premier League doesn't always fill its ground, Parish has done a bewilderingly impressive job.

We'd be down and out again if it wasn't for him.

Good post.

The only business I think I'd be desperate to do is get a second striker in just in case Tekkers gets deliberately taken out the first week after the transfer window closes.

My concern is we play Liverpool second game, who knows how many fit players we'll have left once Grujic has kicked his way round the pitch?

So you still think pulis walked out because of lack of investment....really.

if noone get injured, we will be ok. But we are one CB injury away from a potential disaster.

Sad that we haven't address the #1 offseason need. (top 2 if you count keeper)

Good forbid we lose to Huddersfield...it will be pant wetters city on here

I know that come Saturday my glass will be frequently empty. First game of the season and its 3pm at home on a Saturday - we're always a bit s**t, I think we've won one in 12, and not even got a point in the premiership.

But winning isn't want the first day of the season is about, its about the thrill of a new campaign, seeing people you haven't seen for a few months and drinking too much in the pub afterwards.

Only the plus side this time we're not facing Spurs, Arsenal or West Brom, and we've got a manager and a striker who can score goals... Party time!
