Really? Well, he did just throw a very negative curve ball in their direction saying they are more of a threat than Russia and calling it a 'Jewish' lobby thus labelling it ethnically rather than referring to it as an 'Israel' lobby which includes various denominations. Sounds pretty anti- to me. How do you see it? Just Nige being Nige...lovely fella you'd have a pint with?

At least he's even handed.

There is a Jewish political lobby in America....stating that it can be a problem isn't anti semitic. I think you are suggesting that if someone says a problem can exist that this means that they are 'anti'. I think you are engaging in the emotive over the rational.

Ok, how does this 'Jewish' political lobby, entity, manifest itself? I know about the Israel Lobby but this Jewish one that Nige refers to? Enlighten me. As an aside, I am perplexed by your recent considered and reasonable bigging-up of the Jewish people with now siding with someone who has just been quite strongly negative in their direction.

Individual statements have to be judged on their merits. Criticising policies by governments isn't anti semitic. There is a complicated dividing line where people say they are anti Zionist and but not anti semitic. A Jewish state wouldn't exist at all without zionism. I've always been pro Jewish. It isn't recent on these boards. Individuals speak for themselves on their politics. Sometimes I side with people, sometimes I don't. I want to move away from playing the man and not the issue. Jokes kept to those I know can take it. It's certainly true that I've become emotionally irritated with you and Nick.....this has caused me to become involved in immature spats....Silly tit for tat spread over multiple threads. Away from the EU issue, I don't really agree on several issues. The Syria issue for example. From what I heard concerning what he said about the Jewish lobby I didn't find anything particularly controversial.
