Your post infers that only Parish has made cock ups, every Chairman in the Premiership bar Arsenal have sacked their manager in the last 3 seasons. Therefore he isn't the only one, nobody is perfect in life.

With respect, I wasn't talking about other Chairmen.
I think the fact SP has made errors and put them right, makes him all the better for our club.

Let's just hope that Mr Parish does not as usual leave everything to the last minute and pick up the scraps that are left on the final day, Roy has given him a great chance of survival despite all his short comings as CEO.

And he need to follow that up with signing some premier quality players, not the championship hopeful type players that I suspect him to do, It's far to late in the season to mess around with players that might develop over time, We need a Keeper, Striker and Centre back of a quality that they can fit if needed straight away

As for his great record, what are you referring to the quality of manager he brings in? the continuity of management? The players we have signed? Cant think of any any outstanding signings in the past couple of years or so? I did expect that with his dismal record of anything he touches falling apart, That he would of done his homeworks on players and would act early with signings to give supporters a lift.

I know I am repeating myself but how anyone can say he has done a good job is beyond me, We fight relegation every season, In Pardew's reign we had the worst record in all of Europe's top leagues yet he left it until it was nearly too late, This season we have been breaking records since the beginning of the season and none in a positive way, The one record I will be happy with this season is the staying in the Premier despite our start to the season, Still in a sticky situation but feel confident that again we will do the escape act

I know you weren't talking about other Chairmen, but that is what he judged against in terms of appointing managers. The fact that other clubs are regularly sacking managers, shows that they all make errors.

Sakho and Milivojevic weren't bad for deadline day scraps though

I am still a strong believer in Parish has taken us as far as he can as a chairman, in terms of replacements I don't know.

But he has made quite a few mistakes, and I'm not confident in what he says anymore. Him appointing Roy was a great move.

1. Plans to build a brand new stadium in CP Park. Should have kept it under wraps and not get fans hopes up.
2. How his relationship with Pulis broke down. Still imo one of our better managers. Not sure if Pulis did have another agenda, but it seemed to break down very quickly.
3. Giving Pardew way too much time which threatened our PL status.
4. Why Big Sam left, yes I understand he was effected by his friend in the Manchester attacks. But he was very quick in returning to management, and also confirmed he turned us down shortly before.
5. Tweeting out on his plan to break the top 10. Again getting fans' hopes up we will spend to bring in good quality players.
6. Appointing FdB having done a lot of due diligence.
7. Not giving FdB the confidence to handle first-team affairs and transfers - He said himself on Holmesdale that he is very much involved in the first team affairs.
8. Failure to invest more in the youth team.

This is just a hand full too.

So you think he has done a worse job, than the 3 previous Chairmen. Be careful what you wish for.

As it stands, and since the sixties and going by achievements alone, he is our third best Chairman. Build two cracking new stands, keep us in The Prem, get the youth set-up delivering, and give us a top seven finish two seasons on the trot and don't leave us financially ruptured then Steve, my man, you will be deffo be No.1.

I would liken the Chairman's supermarket mentality to be more 'Aldi' than 'Waitrose'. So not a lot has seemed to have changed from the SJ era, in that respect.
The club seems to be making money, so that's a big change

This is a very accurate and good summary, I agree that SP has been very good for the club in the past but he has been unable to put in place an infrastructure to take us forward because of his controlling ways, we have no succession planning in terms of targets for the future and all our transfers in are usually last minute deals right down to wire, he dithers far too much for me and is reactive rather than pro-active.

Correct. 2 points off 18th; but 3 points off 10th; and with an upwards-only trajectory.

Parish is only human and makes mistakes like any of us.
But when he wakes up to his errors and smells the coffee, how quickly he acts!!
Roy's appointment has proved to be exceptional, I think we would all agree.

You can probably raise an argument against every one of those points, but the one highlighted is pure rubbish. SA departure was a shock and the selection of FdB was rushed. Given more time, we may have gone for Roy. Who knows?

SA stuffed us. Another reason why it annoys me every time I see him hailed as a saviour when all he did was take advantage of the purchase of 4 key players.
