Ok lets agree to disagree. So your telling me your happy with the stiker situation? We have been in this position for strikers all season long.

Yes we have filled our squad with players most people have never heard of. Thats all they are so far this transfer window.

But is that the way to grow as a club?

I really do hope we progress and will suport the team no matter what but why o why is it taking so long to fill a positiin that has been vacant for so bloody long.

I want Christian returning to form, and if we sign a Striker I want one ideally better than Christian.
As for the two unknowns we signed, hopefully they will be as good as Luka.
A year ago I had not heard of him.

Or we could have returned the loan player who is allegedly out for the rest of the season anyway

There is that argument and I suppose we could have returned RLC but what sort of message would that give, it's a bit callous.

We loan a player on goodwill, he gets injured with us and we chuck him back to Chelski.

I don't think we would be able to loan a player of his quality again, I we did that. What loaning team wouldn't think of that as very poor.

There's also the effect on the dressing room. By all accounts, RLC has fit right in and gets on well with the rest of the team.

We got him on loan for the season, not great that he got injured, trying to help us and get some footy in but he's our player. For this season anyway.

To be fair, we seem to be window shopping at Aldi and Lidl. Then popping into Waitrose at 5 minutes before closing to see if we can pick up some last minute bargains.

Lol.. Today's Waitrose was yesterday's Lidl. Besides, they are great value and often win top awards for food quality.

If we are shopping in Lidl's, we're going get some surprisingly good players. Luka comes to mind.

How on earth are we in the same position again?
We didn't sign a striker in the last window and have had to manage with just Benteke since. If he gets injured again, we will have no replacement.
Why have we spent so much time on getting a goalkeeper, when our priority must be for a striker?
We should have paid decent money and bought a striker in the first week of the window, then worried about the defence and midfield. I still think Hennessey is OK and would see us through to the end of the season.
We could have also got someone in on loan if we had sent Loftus-Cheek back to Chelsea.
Typical Palace. I just hope we don't go down as a result as it would cost us dearly.

Let's keep the ball this season!

Steve parish will come out with the same old tired excuses after the window has shut. Agents asking to much players wages to high etc etc. Well weve been here 5 seasons so we should all know how its gonna pan out.

We have no youngsters coming through so we need an experienced prem striker at least plus a goal keeper. The back line is well covered now.

We will buy cheap or a reject from everton and then wonder why its happened again. If we cant afford to compete in the transfer window then maybe we should just accept we are not a premiership side and just enjoy life back in the championship.

Hmm, only thing being, is that we are 13th in the Premiership and in the 5 years we have been in the Prem, we are the 6th biggest spenders in the transfer market.

You can enjoy life back in the Championship but I'm gonna stay supporting a side in the Premiership and it's the same side I have always supported.

COYP..

Well it has served us well over the last 5 years. Although it's no guarantee for survival in the league, anymore than spending stupid money on players and wages.

Quite a few points here.

RLC back to Chelsea depends on the contact between the two clubs. I don't have access to the contract but perhaps we aren't able to return him injured?

Perhaps, also, we have targeted certain types of striker but the clubs are either unwilling to sell or are holding out to see if they get a better offer?

Some of our players are on very lucrative contracts, perhaps it is difficult to find new players who will keep us within FFP constraints? Also keep us within the Home Grown Rule numbers, or whatever it is called.

Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps. It's all guess work on our part anyway.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

I believe that Steve Parish has been doing his level best to get the players in that we need even though he's constantly accused of doing the opposite. I would drop Benteke from the squad. If he doesn't want to play for us or just doesn't care then let him play in the reserves. Give a youngster a chance. He'll at least give a 100% because he'll want to prove a point and let's face it he couldn't do any worse. I only want players in my team's first eleven and squad who will give their very best. Not a lot to ask for.

Amazing.

Yes let's put Ladapo up front on his own against Premier League defenders. That'll work well.

Actually maybe it would make you realise how much Benteke does contribute when he's missing chances.

'he doesn't care because he's not running aorund like a lunatic all the time waaaaah'. I'd have this Benteke in my team any day over any youth player we have and over Frazier Campbell and Cameron Jerome who run around like showing they 'care'.

Why don't we stick Martin Kelly up front because he ran really fast and did a great slide tackle because he cares so much
