West Ham fans (not the 20,000 extra ones that popped up at the London Stadium, but the 35,000 that went to Upton Park every week) would love to still be at their old ground, and if the capacity needed expanding, add a new bigger stand where the Chicken run side used to be, (there was plenty of space for a biggun after their Main Stand was built further back) Building one stand at a time may seem lopsided, and it might never be finished, but they've got the money and we've got the soul

I have been an avid supporter of our club since the 60s,and I have been fortunate enough to see our club play whilst availing of corporate hospitality in various grounds.Clubs of course have former players as 'Ambassadors' who mingle with corporate guests and I have also been at clubs where we have been entertained by guest speakers. Corporate hospitality is very important for clubs - I think that when Arsenal moved into the 'Emirates' their income from such a source accounted for 33% of their revenue. Liverpool's new stand with their extra seats has brought in several million pounds a season. Our new stand will contain many corporate guests but Parish has stressed that the priority is for the stand to house general admission supporters and I doubt whether the atmosphere in the ground will be diminished by all these "Dinner" guests ! I am somewhat agog when I have heard commentators etc say that 'Selhurst Park' is a difficult place to get to when as you mention it is serviced by THREE train stations.As for travel by car, the more modern ones come equipped with 'Sat Navs' and there are also devices/facilities such as 'Tom Toms', 'Google Maps' etc etc which can be used to guide drivers towards the ground. Well said, Willo. I’ve always found Selhurst Park a doddle to get to, having travelled from Bexley, Hertfordshire and now Oxfordshire.

New design grounds may not appear to have great acoustics but everything else about them is far better and look at the new stand design it is the same design you are moaning about just a inferior type. Ive never understood this remark, granted, a popular one and said many times over the years. You got East and west Croydon as overground and Railway hubs of south London, one can get to norwood junction quite easily, most trains stop there from London bridge or from east or west Croydon. Plenty of off street parking, mostly free in side roads, there is also Selhurst station that is sometimes connected to trains to and from London Victoria, then you have plenty of coach parking on the Holmesdale for away fans coming in by coach. Then you got all manor of Uber drivers just gagging for a online booking in and around the vincinity. you got a natural helipad on the selhurst park pitch. you got biggin hill if you have a private jet. you got all manor of space for teleportation if you have managed to invent it. you got paths for walking to and from, if walking is your thing you got air bnb and booking.com if you fancy coming down a day early and kipping over.

CPP is not an option and an out of town bowl would be horrible. This is clearly the best option and the plans look fantastic. This thread shows you that some people will moan about literally anything.

Yes I agree with these sentiments. The next time I hear a commentator/pundit mention about the difficulties of getting to 'Selhurst Park' I think I will bellow out expletives.

I have been to the 'Bernabeu' this season. The 'Bernabeu' underground station is right opposite the stadium but I had to go across Madrid, changing trains, to get there.No problems at all. If only the Victorians had done the job properly ie built railways across cities rather than going for grand termini. But each privately-funded railway building company wanted to make its mark, and never did the twain meet.

But the pundit is talking about the difficulties of navigating his Bentley to within 10 yards of the gate. You can't expect these luminaries to actually walk around.
