"Robinson", like many attention seekers, often plays the victim to gain the sympathy of fellow believers and help to convince them that there is a conspiracy against them. I am not at all convinced. From all that I can see the authorities have gone to great lengths to avoid any suggestion of unfairness to a man I would not personally wish to associate with.

That's pretty much any one that doesn't like or agree with the law then or other people's opinions.

Being progressive is what the human race has done since it evolved and what sets it apart from the animals. Do you really think it's a good idea to stand still or regress?

I don't think that's true at all. If you believe in your opinion then you stand up for it and don't just try to evoke sympathy because you think you are being treated unfairly.

Do you think that moving closer to Middle Eastern/Islamic culture would be progress for the UK, and West in general?

When you invite large numbers of a particular culture, they're going to bring that culture with them.

In short, Robinson has been campaigning against certain gangs who near exclusively rape working class white girls for many years. Years before it was picked up by the media.

He was on a justified suspended sentence for trying to report from within a court room when the judge, in this case, jailed him for 13 months for being outside the court on its grounds but recording.

He had asked the Police was it alright to film there but the judge had obviously nearly fallen over themselves to jail him for his mistake. When you look at law it includes the outside of a court to also be the court.

This aspect of the law is frequently not enforced as we have seen with many past examples.

So the original jailing was flawed as the original judge rushed their ruling....apparently not over looking at all of the evidence in their eagerness to jail him.

I'm made up......but there's still another hearing for Robinson to attend and it's not over yet.

His appeal was crowd funded and everyone who contributed is a little fiscal hero.

I have been away for a while.

Yes, I do agree most points. He has highlighted some important issues. While I suspect I am polar opposed to much of his politics/ideology, I will fight for his right to voice it and will be deeply disturbed if he received penalties higher than others for the same offence just because of who he is. 13 months seems long and too much of an "example set" for my comfort. Also, the second offence was clearly flawed whether he pleaded guilty to it or not and setting it down to be reconsidered is fair.

That said I have kids. They do something bad; I take away a toy and tell them if they do it again, they won't go to Creely Park (the nuclear option in our house). They do it again. They don't go to Creely. This guy appears to have committed precisely the same offence while still under suspension for the last one. The courts absolutely hate that. Did he expect a sympathetic judge?

The other thing I am not happy with is what seems to me to be trivialising the offence. Do you know how many rape trials are succesful? I would like to see you face to face with the victims and their families in these trials arguing free speech and the plus points of Robinson's ideology if the case collapses due to himk streaming prejudicial material over the net.

Coupled with a rather long list of antecedent crimes, 13 months doesn't seem so long. However, if the Recorder does take into account the mitigating factors you mention and either acquits or reduces the sentence then fair enough. He is entitled to the same protection as well as force of the law as anybody else.

A cancerous tumour progresses through the body, it is progressive.

That's a better lens by which to see the politics of 'progressivism' by.

Oh and most of progressivism is just a way of hiding its true face.....communism.

It's almost like the same word can have alternative meanings - and in this case, does not mean that. Whoever thought the English language could be so nuanced?

Yeah, perhaps people should just stop with the foreplay and call it what it truly is.

Communism.

Even if that's the case, which I've seen no proof of, what are the benefits, long term and short term?
