I think this is about spot on Willo. They clearly are missed. Well done for them for being ballsy about it and giving up their season tickets. Clearly it will divide fans but for the long run it’s the best for the club. The majority are happy.

I for one can’t wait for next season. For what it’s worth, I’ve recently started a new job and one of the guys in the office is part of the HF (more fringe really). He tells me they are still attending but are spread out now. Effectively they’re supporting the team the same way as everyone else now.

So it seems the Holmesdale Fanatics/Ultras
are only prepared to be Fanatics/Ultras if they get the best seats in the Lower Holmesdale.
And are happy to put Palace's current campaign at risk, because in their view the players really need the "atmosphere" they create to win points at Selhurst Park.So they are willing to risk Palace getting relegated to get their own way !
In my 50 years of attending Selhurst Park this is the most bizarre way of showing support for the Palace I have ever known.
Also I am curious as to how they can say they have the backing of the vast majority of supporters, where's the proof, apart from the comedy petition.

I believe the issue is not about whether a 'Singing section' has majority support, there is disquiet about the actions of the HF and the club.

I suspect the fact that they have decided not to continue in their current form in Block B is viewed as them throwing a strop and 'Going on strike' trying to force the hand of the club, getting what they want and in doing so resulting in scores of loyal season-ticket holders,having to give up their seats many of whom have probably had them for many a year.Not forgetting that those in adjacent blocks might have their sight lines affected by the persistent standing of the HF which is against ground regulations and which the club does not enforce in this instance.

There are many long-term season ticket holders at Selhurst Park and they cannot abide their fellow supporters having to be 'Evicted' in such circumstances.

I get the impression that perhaps many view the HF as attendees who have leapt on to a bandwagon and whose numbers would greatly decrease should the club be relegated whilst loyal supporters would continue to renew their tickets as they have done season on season.They might be wrong of course.

One suspects that supporters have no objection to parts of the ground where support is highly visible and vocal, they are simply in a lather about the circumstances surrounding the latest events for the reasons I have highlighted above.
