It is actually incredible that the UK could revoke article 50 and continue in situ even with the veto.

Merde, alors !!

If article 50 is revoked there will be no state left to govern within a few weeks.

I'm not a fan of this happening, and I don't think it will, but as I've said before I think it's overstating the case that there would be an 'end of days' scenario. Matov would be the only one storming parliament.

The odd riot and grumble would knock about for a bit but that's about it.

Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons.

It would be like a 'leave' march, a short bus queue....

On a 72 per cent turnout, 17,410,742 people voted Leave — the biggest vote in British history for anything.

You can try and turn it up anyway you like.....the EU has no large scale popularity in the UK outside of activists and those personally affected.....Even a percent of remain votes were won purely out of fear.....not an affection or like of the institution.

If the UK leaves the EU in March 2019 with no agreement in place, eligible beneficiaries will continue to receive payments under the terms of the UK government’s funding guarantee.

Defra and the devolved administrations are preparing domestic legislation (under the Withdrawal Act) to ensure we have the ability in law to continue operation of payments in a ‘no deal’ scenario. This legislation preserves the EU law as it currently stands, and ‘fixes’ the legislation so that it is operable once we’ve left the EU.

The domestic legislation will require beneficiaries to conform to the same standards as they do currently, in order to receive payments. This will include on-site inspections to UK farms receiving payments, which will continue as normal.

All of these rules and processes will remain the same until Defra and the devolved administrations introduce new agriculture policies, either through the Agriculture Bill due to be introduced in the UK Parliament, or an Agriculture Bill in one or more of the devolved parliaments.

That dates from 24 July 2018. The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) lecture I attended was in January 2019 and it was very clear. I suspect the devil is in the detail. Sadly I have now shredded my notes.

In any case, agriculture is going to have a tough time

Here is the AHDB view

So the head of the WTO isn't a good person to take advice from about the WTO?

Just like the head of JLR isn't a good person to talk to about JLR

Instead brexiters listen to politicians making money out of the Brexit downturn, despite stating elsewhere about what a total screw up they have made of brexit

Perhaps, perhaps not....besides you're not one for democracy anyway Steely.

All of this is of limited importance....I mean I view the EU negatively but even if we successfully leave.....In some ways it's purely a taking away of power from one set of keystone cop leaders and giving a bit more power to another.....three thirds of whom don't want it because they get to lose their chance of a gravy train.

All these "experts" if they all hadn't been so wrong about other things I might actually listen. I think I speak for 17 million people
