We absolutely should not listen to anything less than 80m for at least a few reasons.

1) Rollover now and we won't be taken seriously in future negotiations

2) We just sold our fullback with just over a year's experience for 50m. Zaha is by far our most important player and is one of the rare PL players that are able to turn a game in a moment and as such he is worth significantly more than our right back, however good AWB might be. Sometimes I think people forget just how unique Wilf's ability is; he is one of the top three dribblers in Europe FFS. Plus you have to factor in United's share of any deal.

3) We do not appear to have a replacement lined up and even if we did they are unlikely to be ready to step into Wilf's shoes. If we are going to change tact post Wilf then this needs more planning than a last-minute supermarket sweep with the readies.

Added to this, if Parish really is looking to sell, or at least replace the Americans, we at least need to have something in the club worth buying. Whatever I think, the biggest factor is that Parish has a massive bon3r for Wilf and as such will fight tooth and nail to keep him.

Isn’t this known as tapping up and Arsenal should be reported for such. I’m sick of Arsenal picking players off us. Peter Nicholas, Kenny Samson, Ian Wright, Eddie McGoldrick and now trying it on with Wilf.

Kenny and Wrighty being the best players they have ever had. I can’t wait for this transfer window to shut on the 8th August.

We develop their player as part of the deal to make him worth more and Zaha effectively cheaper again. Not a chance.

I think the money part is £65 mil according to an AFTV window I’ve seen on a website. It’s going to start getting hotter soon as my prediction is Wilf will start to get frustrated as the bids edge higher. I think there’s possibly up to 2 more bids to come.

I am sounding like a broken record, but its too late in the window whatever the price, we would end up paying double for anyone, they would have us over a barrel, Parish needs to hold his nerve and reject any offer until the start of next summer.

If they really want Wilf, they can offer us players permanently. Loaning us their young, inexperienced wingers who wouldn't play anyway with Wilf in the squad only does them a favour, not us. Pathetic club.

80 plus him on loan or 65 and the lad on a permanent. They will loan him out anyway if they get Zaha so what’s in it for us!!!????

Any deal For Zaha should have been started before the window even opened.

A line needs to be drawn under this and say he is no longer available at any price.

We still need to sign 3 players and a couple of loans and we have 2 weeks.

I agree. But it doesn’t stop Arsenal’s joke of a DOF making gradually higher bids and the circus continuing involving a club which no doubt was Zaha’s dream when they were, erm, successful once upon a time.

Well, having lost out on Kierney because of their horse trading attitude, it looks like they could be seeing Wilf as a second best option again..... how good must that make him feel?

It's too late to sell him now at almost any price. We should already have two or three good players lined up for life without Wilf, and we have nothing.

Imagine we sell him for 80M to either Arsenal or Bayern. Great, we made money from Wilf and AWB. What happens then?

We were in the relegation discussion for much of last season, and now we go into this season losing our two best players (by far). We immediately become favorites to get relegated. We finally won a game or two without Zaha, but overall, our record without him has been abysmal. Why would that change?

Does anyone have confidence that we would find good replacements for Zaha and AWB in the next week or two, for reasonable prices? I don't. We'd likely grossly overpay for wishful thinking players like we did with Sorloth, or Gabbiadini back in the day.

We'd be a defensive team with no playmakers in midfield, no goal scorers up front, and no counter-attack.

This season will be our toughest relegation battle yet, and having 100M+ in the bank won't help us stay up. If we get rid of Zaha, it sends a message that Parish is willing to get relegated, focus on the new stadium or infrastructure, new owners, and then battle to get back up in the future. It will be the end of this era, then years of rebuilding.

I'm really frustrated at how this is playing out, so late in the game. As others have said, there should have been a deadline already.

Spot on, have no confidence we wont shot ourselves in the foot though.

‘But, the Gunners only have £45m to spend in the transfer window this summer, and are therefore trying to secure deals with a number of additional clauses.’

Funny when papers keep saying this. It’s as if they’re closely connected. They have more. They’re just trying to get away with not spending it and clubs aren’t having it. I predict trouble with fans in the next year when the ones who go and not the social media morons realise they’re being exploited.
