Of course, he stands out against Schlupp/Andros/Bakary/Ayew etc...anyone half decent would. But top 4? Nah. He's a way off the likes of De Bryne, Sterling, Hazard etc.

There is a range of players who exist between Schlupp and Sterling - he is way off the KDB’s and Sterling’s of the league, but so is nearly everyone.

Look at some of the other players who get a lot of minutes at top six clubs and Wilf is clearly better; Barkley, Pedro, Willian, James, Lingard, Martial - he walks into every team outside of City and Liverpool IMO.

Were it not for Palace, Wilf would be in the Berahinho etc. League. If/when he does move, id highly anticipate him fading into some kind of obscurity. I’d disagree with anyone who thinks differently.

‘A handful of good performances’ is just false - he’s been our best player stretched over the best part of a decade, and consistently so for at least the last 3-4 years.

It’s arrogant, and frankly silly, to think he’d be at Berahino level without us.

People also need to remember that because he plays for us other teams are able to put 2, 3 or 4 players on him (this happened against Villa, 3 on him) because they know no one else in our team can hurt them yet he still delivers. If he plays for one of the bigger teams, he will get space and time, he will excel and I for one am quite excited to see exactly what he can do. No he hasn't gone about things the right way this year but he is one we have raised and has been an excellent servant to the club and we will still make a lot of money on him.

Against Spurs the few times they didn't foul him he literally walked through their midfield and defence. Now Hazard has left Wilf is the best dribbler in the PL. At the end of last season when we opened up he was devastating showing what he is capable of in a more attacking team. Put him in a top club and he will shine, I have no doubt. Imagine teams trying to stop him with only one defender and with players capable of setting him loose with an accurate through-ball. He doesn't always shine, but I do think part of that is the way we set up. Some games the ball barely crosses the halfway line, plus teams try and shut out the route to Wilf knowing what a threat he is.

Hopefully he is true to his word that he will give his all this season, but I hope he doesn't do any badge kissing as that would be a bit much and I also hope he stops balling out his teammates whenever things don't go as he wants. He is arrogant and does complain too much, but then so are/were many great players like Ronaldo, Rooney, etc.

Wilf is class. Can't do much when teams can afford to have 3 on him as we have no other threat, I think that's why his best spell was with Bats, as teams actually had to bother there arsemarking an attacking threat at all times unlike Ayew or BenHeskey, or Townsend for that matter who appears to have forgotten how to run, mind you that could because he can't leave Ward to exposed.

Either way the Jan window is massive for us and if we don't fill in up front and at least one full back I can see us going down.

It'd be rather odd if you agreed with those thinking differently to you.

I would rather do a part ex for RLC and then dump Benteke Sorloth and Wickham and replace those three with two strikers in the summer along with a right back and left back (although I would prefer the defenders to come in January). We also need a similar player to Wilf to cover that wide position.

Well, thats about £100m, I've just spent, shame it aint ever going to happen.

Until I read your last sentence, I thought I was in fantasy land

After saying in an interview with HLTCO that his teammates need to pull their weight, it will be interesting to see their reaction if and when he scores his first goal this season. Seriously though, he needs to stop doing interviews other than the official club ones as he is not very media savvy.

Zaha has launched a stinging attack on his Crystal Palace team-mates and he told them "raise your game, I can’t carry the side on my own":

I listened to the interview on HLTCO and he didn't say it like that at all. He was asked about did he feel pressure as our talisman and he said not really but wanted to stress it wasn't just about him and the whole team had to give 100% which is the minimum he expects of everyone. He also said this current squad had the most amount of character of any Palace squad he'd played in.

I haven't heard the interview as I'm not prepared to pay to listen to Hopkin curling one out, but Sky has a couple of direct quotes that are not at odds with The Sun article:

"As much as I do on the pitch, I can't play in every position. I give 100 per cent, but there are 11 on the pitch and everyone needs to pull their weight".

Are you sure that you weren't listening with the Zaha rose-tints on? He's not necessarily wrong, but it might be politic for him to keep such thoughts away from the media.
