Disagree- We're a well run club, but when it comes to the Transfer window we are the dog without his bollocks!

Surely this post contradicts itself. To be relatively well run one would expect at least some acumen in the transfer window, no?

I agree with most of what you say although of the gang of four, Parish was always the front man and the one pushing the others and I believe has always harboured ambitions to be heavily involved. He knows he is not independently wealthy enough to get the club where he wants it to be, but he still wants to captain the ship. What do we want as fans, a club run by a fan with slightly less money, or a club like Chelsea with a mega rich owner who is only a fan because he bought the club?

I would prefer the latter of your two options as it would provide more security for us. The club's accounts for the year ended 30th June 2019 should be available shortly which will make interesting reading.

We seem to be perpetually skint lately and I wonder where we would be if we hadn't sold AWB

I seem to recall that nine years ago when the gang of four rescued the club that they said they were unwilling purchasers and were only doing it as a last resort and would be custodians until a willing purchaser could be found.

It seems to me that three of the original four have stuck by their original promise and have either vastly reduced their stakes or sold out completely with only Steve Parish now seemingly happy running the club and wanting to hang on to his stake

Surely his continuing involvement is a form of insurance that we won't be Glazered.

I think we're constricted by FFP, compounded by our inherent fear of administration, and there pledge to never go back there again, which has been hanging over our heads since CPFC2010 took over. Where this is a very valid argument, it has meant we have gone into all financial negotiations cautiously and often with little commitment. Sometimes we need to go in Bold and offer the right amount. Giving a clear message that we Really want the player.
It has als led to bad decisions - Benteke being a good case in point. For once we committed to a large sign on fee. Initially he paid us back with a couple of good seasons, increasing his wage demands. In hindsight though, I think that they (wrongly) view this a a bad deal. And now, so scared of not getting a return, we offer him a new contract to protect his value. now hes over valued, And were wasted more money, and haven't made space on our wage bill.

What I think we need is fresh owners, without the administration baggage.
(this is not to say that that new owners should be negligent with the money however!)

I am quite sure that has kept us above a very grim scenario to one that is just a bit crummy.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

We were already in admin, 2010 stepped in the day we were due to be liquidated because the administrator had run out of money.

Hmmm Not quite sure what you mean by that and I hope that I'm not being whoooooshed

Is Parish a good chairman or just a very lucky one? We were very lucky to have had this young winger in our development squad without whom we would probably still be in the championship.

We were also very lucky that after two managerial f***ups there were two people waiting in the wings to perform a rescue act for us.

We were very lucky a few years ago when getting rid of all of our strikers except one and failing to replace them that our remaining striker didn't get injured.

We were very lucky when we sold our right back and failed to replace him that it didn't come back to bite us in the bum

Loaded with debt à la Man Utd and the family firm. And I'm like Napoleon with my Chairman.

Could not agree more, this club has a big problem, there is something toxic with the way Parish conducts himself in the transfer market, players just do not want to come even when transfer terms have been agreed with their club. Parish is a liability and if he is not careful this will all go bad, very quickly!

Oh dear, so us eh!! We really need new investors or the age of our squad and quality will catch up with us. Hoping something will happen before the close to support RH but I have my doubts. As a team, not stadium I feel we are so close to making us a regular top 10.

Sorry, that wasn't really my point. I'm suggesting that this experience has scarred us, and has negatively influenced our subsequent transfers...

Less than 24 hours from being liquidated is likely to do that.
