That's life in general unfortunately. The wealthier people become, not always but often they become meaner with their money. Even with loved ones and friends.
Its the old saying, its how/why the rich stay rich.

It's called entitlement. Celebs love to get free entry to things and people wonder why when they are stinking rich? Vanity is the reason.

My view is that 'Transfer Windows' globally will be depressed as a result of this dastardly pandemic.
Zaha will be sold for much less than would have been the case if this virus had not inflicted devastation around the world.

Since I posted the above, I have just set eyes on the following :

All this means is the Liverpools and the Man U's will try and take the piss as the buying club but will still ignore the depressed market and demand top dollar when they sell!

I think once someone sees 7 figures in readies the next day they dont want 6 figures.
Way back I worked for a huge energy supplier who actually paid two people not to pay Bills. They wait for the last minute as back then the extra interest was more than their wages and NI. That is still the mentality right down to joe public.

It looks pretty bad at the moment, but when the transfer window comes, and the clubs go out an spend hundreds of millions on players I wonder what everyone will think of the clubs then?

By that point, a lot of people may have forgotten this row.

There won’t be spending like we have seen before, if any...

Those days have gone, the players salaries will drop as will the value of them. The games up!!

Agreed. Football is closed and not due to open for sometime.

Even when it does, it may be a different experience to what we used to know.

Players and agents wages will come down massively. At the risk of sounding sour, this is one of the few positives to come out of the situation.

When I see 18 year olds who if they couldn’t kick a ball, would be working at McDonalds, driving Bentleys, it makes me realise what’s wrong with the world.

What gives you the right to be so disparaging about people who work in McDonalds? What gives you the right to be so dismissive about the value of people who work in service industries?

You might also understand that those 18 year olds are getting paid a lot of money because they have a rare ability to excel in the world's most popular game. Why does that make them less deserving of riches than top bankers or lawyers?

What gives him the right? The right to say what he thinks?

Living in a supposedly free society, that's what. The fact that laws now exist that are against that is an affront to that freedom.

I think that there's much unfairness. In this crisis the majority of "key" workers are those who're on the bottom rung when it comes to remuneration. Suddenly top bankers, city traders and EPL footballers are the ones who aren't really needed.

Those at the very top in the city ring fence their salaries by having remuneration committees made up of their own kind.

Leaving everything to market forces is an anarchic system. If we relied totally on it there'd be no NHS for a start.

When it all gets going again all the old injustice will be back.

As for football - the only way players and their scummie agents will be forced to hold back, will be if enough clubs go to the wall.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.
