Effectively what a lot of you seeeem to be saying is - ‘A lot of bad s*** happened in the past to your ancestors. Maybe some of it was because of my ancestors, and you get reminded of it every day through various means but hey, don’t raise it, don’t talk about it, and certainly don’t challenge it because that was hundreds of years ago and you really should have moved on by now. You certainly can’t say that as though it’s a fact. I’d reckon (note reckon, not claim to be a fact) there are plenty of backwater areas of this country, and there are a lot, where the situation in opposite would certainly be being celebrated - whether it’s women or not is irrelevant. I’d just assume they’re either too poor or stupid to have access to or understand how to sue twitter in the first place (To clarify - the response is aimed at the first part of the para) Second part - sure. Agree, although for me it’s more a case of poor people vs even marginally wealthier people, and most inner city black people tend to be poor or disadvantaged. If we didn’t have any immigrants in this country the same thing would be happening anyway - it’s class, opportunity and finance related. Morality degrades the lower down the chain you go no matter the race. And it gets even worse if that race has been persecuted, exploited and marginalised for centuries. Not really sure why people are surprised by some of this - and don’t switch to saying ‘oh so you’re justifying it then’ - no. No I’m not. If you were black and went about life positively and focused I doubt the slave trade would affect you or be in your mind on a daily basis.
